In the Matrix sourcebook, page 54, I find the following:
Like any blank media they are inexpensive, costing only 5 nuyen per Mp.Each OMC can hold up to 1,000 Mp of data. For more information on OMCs, see p. 295, SR3.

I look at the core rulebook, on page 295, I find the following:
Blank OMCs cost about 0.5¥ per MP.

I checked the errata for both and found this:
p. 296: Skillsofts and Chips Table [12]
The price for optical memory chips should be Mp x 0.5¥, and the Concealability of the skillsoft jukebox was changed to 6.

The Matrix book did not have the same correction. So which is it? 0.5 or 5 per Mp.

When I was running SR3 I used the 0.5Y per MP.

No real reason why ... it just felt right.

The table on p54, Matrix, the table on p168 of the Matrix Tables section of Matrix, the table on p296, SR3, and the text on p295, SR3 all agree on 0.5¥/MP; the only dissenting opinion is the text on p54, Matrix. I think it's clear that that passage was just missed during errata and 0.5¥/MP is the proper value.
