There'll be time enough for that later, though her sister may be more your style. But if you want an idea of who she is, go looking for that little convo I had between her and her fixer a little bit back (first page for me, but I do 100 posts per page). Or go watch some Daria, as a single conversation from that show sparked the idea for this character.

Funny, when your little sister was named Quinn and was "always the pretty one" I immediately thought of Daria. Loved that show.

You mean the workaholic mom, crazy dad, and sibling rivalry wasn't enough? As for the wiki, I'm trying to add the stuff now again, was just working on it and my laptop crashed. Damned Asskraki internets, damned Asskraki dust killing my lappy.

Okay, Team 2, you're all at the start of the first scenario. I've emailed you with a question about getting started, so please check your accounts and get back to me as quickly as you may.

Also, Team 2, I've added the OOC thread, so you can get started getting to know one another as players if you so choose. Post things there about yourself, not about your character. the IC thread will be forthcoming when everyone is on board.

Hello, I'm applying for the empty slot on team 1. I've been in contact with the GM for a few days, but I thought I'd post my character in case of the current players have tips for improving the character. I'm having some trouble choosing skills such that I still meet the BP requirements. Here it is:

I like it overall Von, there are some niggles though.

1. You can't have more than 1 contact AFAIK specifically for this game. (the GM may have made an exception I am unaware of).
2. Don't bother with astral combat or banishing (for now), bring manabolt or stunbolt.
3. Get counterspelling 4. For great justice.
4. If you do bring manabolt, drop agility by 1 (or even 2), assuming all you're doing is using it for pistols. Get a specialization if you want to keep your dice pool up.
5. While I'm on the pistols subject, tasers are awesome. It's like a short-range stunbolt that works on drones and sprits. And they're legal (very handy feature in Denver).

Would replacing Spellcasting 4 w/ Sorcery Group 4 also take care of the Counterspelling skill? I added the manabolt spell while reducing astral combat down a point.

I got rid of one of the contacts.

Also, I think I'd like to keep Banishing, as it's kind of a character-related thing. I think of banishing like a kind of exorcism that a mage priest would definitely be trained to do.

I've included a Defiance EX Shocker in my arsenal with plenty of taser darts. Thanks for the tip.

updated character sheet, Father Pedro:

Yeah that's the impression I was under as well. Plus, I think it would be useful to know a coyote in Seattle.

Nice call on the Defiance EX, although you may want to note that they allow only 1 shot per IP (still a simple action though). Got any licenses for those "real" guns, btw? >.>

The sorcery group is ok , but it's more efficient to buy up counterspelling 4 and spellcasting 4 unless you want ritual magic. (In which case you have to buy it at a lower level anyway, we're only allowed two skills at 4 or one at 5.

The thing about the astral combat skill is that it simply isn't that useful for mages with mana spells. It's trying to punch someone while you've got a loaded assault rifle strapped to your back.

The GM recommended I have that group, so I'm milking that for all it's worth (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I edited in a rating 2 fake concealed weapons license (unless there's a different kind I'll be needing). This change is reflected in my total nuyen amount.

Some things I noticed... you only have 140 BP in Attributes (Magic is seperate, you could have 4 more points in Attributes).

Sorcery and Conjuration Skill Groups are too expensive for those low BP, I think.

You have no Summoning.

The important Magic Skills to have are Spellcasting, Summoning, Counterspelling and Assensing.

I would stay away from Astral Combat and Banishing, and just use Stunbolt or Manabolt instead on the astral.

Why is that focus unbound? There is no place where you can bind it cheaper than during chargen. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

With your background, there shouldn't be a problem to find enough Negative Qualities to fill those 25 BP... you need the extra points!

Fireball is fun, but with your low Drain Resistance DP, it will damage you as much as whoever you aim it at. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Speaking of which, your Drain Resistance DP is really low. You can get fetishes for some higher Drain spells and learn those in the "limited" version, which grants +2 dice for Drain Resistance. You should definitely look into raising your Drain relevant Attributes (Willpower and whatever comes from the tradition, not entirely sure which one that is for you).

Focused Concentration ... before you have 180 BP in Attributes and your Drain relevant Attributes on 5, you are better off spending those 10 BP on one of those Attributes, really. Just get Willpower +1 instead.

Bye
Thanee

See, I knew sending him here instead of relying on me posting from my Droid while I was out with the missus last night was going to be more efficient. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

My Understanding is that there's two people we're considering. And no decision has been made, but I could be wrong.

Sabs is correct. I've had two applicants. If you can get me a character sketch (2-3 paragraphs) and a character sheet by the end of the day today (local time - Mountain Standard) I'll include you in the list of applicants. Again, we're looking at magical abilities in whoever fills the role.
