I can't think how this might turn into a thread, but if anyone has anything interesting to add please do.
I've just booked the venue for my wedding and the guy who runs the place has told us he won't be able to oversee the event in person because of his MS, so instead he's going to monitor it all from the office through the CCTV, checking tables for missing condiments and the like and radioing staff when something needs attending too. When we heard this my partner was simply pleased at the dedication, but my first thought was distinctly 'Excellent, that should keep the shadowrunners out!' I nearly asked him who serviced his drones. |

I nearly asked him who serviced his drones. You still can. If you'd like some shadowrunners to accomplish a nebulous task at the event, just for the ambience - well, let us know. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

And congratulations on tying the knot, or whichever turn of phrase is neccessary if you're not doing a traditional knot-tying ceremony.

By the by, I know a runner-friendly photographer if you're still in the market. Top-notch work. PM me if you're interested.

My wife informs me that she has a similar view of myself. And back in the day I had the ladies lined up for me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) . In fact, when I hear my single friends complaining about not having a girlfriend I just tell them to hang around me more and I'll take care of them. I actually make it a point at every anime convention I go to to attract some awsome arm-candy (and the wife's fine with it [or so she says]). But finding that one special one is always worth celebrating.
My wife and I had a courthouse wedding and our "reception" was simply meeting friends at an arcade. I'm planning on making it up to her by having a renewal of vows at my clan's (I'm Irish/Scottish) castle of Eilean Donan. I think that'll make up for it. |

Congrats, Aerospider, and good luck!
I was lucky enough to meet my wife through a "wanted, player for game!" post-it at out FLGS. That was about.....a long time ago. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grinbig.gif) It can be nice when you marry your GM. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/scatter.gif) |

Congratulations! And it's cool that your wedding will be (unwanted) runner free, thanks to the work of your spider.
Also, it's cool that your clan still has a castle - all I've got is an ancestral pile of rocks where the castle was, on both my mother and my father's sides. |

You can count a pile of rocks as a castle?

Funnily enough, my clan was actually.... hired(?) to watch the grounds around the castle (a la fiefdom). The clan who owned it ended up getting financially troubled many years later (like a couple hundred) and my clan bought the castle from them. I think it switched hands like that two more times, so my clan owns it and the other clan is still in well with us.
Funnily enough, back in high school I became instant friends with a certain girl. It was like we knew each other. Turns out that she was from that other clan. EDIT: Funnily enough was used too often. |

Nothing as neat as your experience in relation to shadowrun. |

Thanks. Now that I think about it there is an individual we definitely don't want turning up so perhaps I should consider some runners for a little low-key security. Any good fixers out there? |

Congratulations! (Any need of a photographer in the area?) My fiancee's uncle's wedding gift is by bringing a photographer to the wedding, so we didn't really get a chance to choose. Plus, the uncle is also the priest who's performing the ceremony so we really couldn't say no. :-/ |
