"How do you tell if the power lines are live?" "We ask Mungo to lick them. If he starts smoking, they're live." "Great to know you value Mungo's life so much." "Hey, he's survived three live wires so far."

On the note of house floorplans, while Seattle proper is pretty built up, once you're talking about the whole Seatle metroplex you're including the suberbs and even some farms, so you have a reason to bust that stuff out even within the typical setting.

True enough. And the Barrens haven't seen any major construction since... Um...

Well, look at that. Since they've been known as the Barrens! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

A friend of mine suggested this for a game he ran, and when I started playing in a different game, I decided to do it again. Image reference for your character! Ten minutes' effort with Google Images, and you have a quick printout letting you say, "Jimmy the Adept is a biker punk, he kinda looks like this." Or, "This is what my matrix persona looks like." Helps a lot, especially when the character does not resemble the player at all. Of course, poor choice of imagery can lead to quite a few jokes... but it was all in fun.
