As a matter of fact, this was one of the points increasing my liking for the character of Clockwork. Because he has character. No matter how much I would dislike such actions in RL. He is not the vehicle of some writers opinion about RL matters. He might just be a one or two dimensional character but thats more than most.
Yeah, he is a mercenary with a dislike for AIs and technomancers. He is ice cold and an ass. I would not like him as a friend, but as a fictional character he does not anger me. This anger is reserved for Mr. Authors opinion running around with the shild of the the author. (This is, normaly more a problem with magical characters.)

This is not that bad in Shadowrun like it is in some fantasy RPGs. Sometimes it really makes you want to kick the guy who wrote it.

You get multiple authors, you get multiple opinions, and ability to share those opinions in ways that are either subtle or overt.

I call it the sliding scale from Pratchett and Ringo. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

He's a man sticking to his principles, and reasonably suspicious in his hatreds at most.
So, I would like him as a friend :3

When I read what clockwork did to Netcat in Emergence, I so wanted him to be real so I could (attempt to) beat the shit out of him.

And I'm a pacifist

Then your not really a pacifist. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) /jest
