YEs, Issy, she's cool. You know our characters could know each other outside of SR. My Longriffle is a student at U-dub, in her senior year.

Okay, so we have an Ork Samurai (TheOneRonin), a Longrifle/Sniper type (Shadow), and a perception PhysAd/Sec Specialist (Shockwave).

Sounds like we will have a lot of overlap in the combat department, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I suppose we really need a Decker and a Mage/Shaman.

Leowulf, what's your character's archetype/specialty?

Overlap in combat? Issy got a pistols skill of 4, thats it. It's her stealth and perception you gotta worry about.

My mistake, Shock. The physad part threw me a bit. Okay...so she's more of a stealthy kind of girl. That rocks. And she's really good at spotting things. Could certainly come in handy. Is she good with Maglocks/B&E?

We certainly need someone who can do that...maybe if we can recruit a decker he/she can pull double duty as hacker/B&E expert.

We still need someone to cover the magic end. I hate doing runs with no mage/shaman on the team.

Hey GM, any chance we can get some NPC assistance if we don't end up with a Mage/Shaman player?

Good with maglocks? hmm she doing a major (PhD?) in security, so you could say she somewhat famailar with them.

To some up, Electronics and Stealth she can do. Surveillance she can help with. This is offcause assuming she's allowed in...

She can sense magic too, just not to good at doing anything about it. So i'd say were definatly gonna need a shamen/ face type.

Sweet. That means she fills the B&E slot. Looks like we will have all the main angles covered, except for decking and magic.

And I second the vote for a mage/shaman/face type.

Shadow, tell us a little more about your Longrifle...

nitpick: I don't think there would be a Philisophical Doctorate program for Security. A Masters would be reasonable, though.

Raven is a world class Biathlon. Unfortunately she failed to qualify for the 2062 winter olympics and it has shattered her spirit. She got into shadowruning a few years back as a freshmen to help pay for college and her enhancements. She is serious about her school and works hard at it. Some of her scholarships where dependent on her making the Olympic team in some form, since she didn't she really needs the money that a shadowrun brings in.

This is assuming she gets in. Obviously she is highly skilled with a riffle and pistol. She is also very athletic and skilled in hand to hand.

I wouldn't call Raven an over achiever, more like, she is focused. She was taught from a young age that she had to be the absolute best at something, so that's her goal.

I'm submitting Ghost Dragon. He's a mage geared toward combat. I'm running him in Shadow's Threat and Favor game. He may or may not be dead by the end of the run. In the case of the former, I'll have to submit a new mage with the same angle. I have one in reserve, named Biomage, who will probably turn out to be more powerful, though less well-rounded, and I'm working on a third. The concept for the third isn't complete yet.

Ghost Dragon is an elf. He has another one of my characters as a contact, Blackjack. Blackjack is a decker character, and not half bad either. If it comes down to us needing another runner, I can play two characters at once; I've done it before. As a matter of fact, it was with the two of them on a run.

Here are the stats on the pistol I made for you to peruse, Ronin. The Heavy Arms, Inc. part is just something I made up. I've cut and paste this from my character sheet, which was cut and pasted from a word document containing all of my firearm creations. Basically, the Aggressor-C, which is what my character has, is invisible to MADs, and it's a pretty good pistol for a noncybered character, i.e. a mage. Should any of you guys use my design, please give me credit.

The Aggressor heavy pistol was designed to be a quick-drawn, light, and concealable handgun with good stopping power for gunfighters without cyber enhancements. It features a removed safety for easy firing, a heavy barrel, which provides 1 point of recoil compensation, and an integral top-mounted low-powered laser sight. It is also available in a fully ceramic model. The ceramic model can only accommodate an external smartgun.

Okay...so the fully ceramic model is invisible to MADs...but what do you do with your ammo? Bullets aren't going to get past MADs. I'm not trying to be critical...just curious.

As a side note, with my Sammy's bone lacing, he can't even get near MADs without setting them off. :grinbig:

Ok, first off, I hate deckers, love riggers.

Second, everyone is in so far.

Third, Im waiting on one or two more chars, preferably a rigger and one or more either combat or magic types, though anything could fit.

Finally, I like the "know from school, not the shadows" thing a lot.

Also, A definition of contacts I sometimes use. Just a couple examples.

Lvl 1 - the guy at the stuffer shack who knows what brand of smokes you like or that you wouldn't be dumb enough to try and drive-off without paying for your gas.

Lvl 2 - that guy you go clubbing with, doesn't know you are a runner, but still hangs a good bit, or that secretary you dated in Highschool who still has a crush on you. Also, the upscale mechanic who doesn't ask questions when your car comes in with blood stains and holes from Armor Piercing rounds.

Lvl 3 - The kid you grew up with who knows everything and doesn't care, or the up-scale mechanic who doesn't know you and hasn't seen any cars with AP round damage latelywhen the police ask, and will tell his employees to hide it if they ask to check his lot. The bouncer who will let you into the club armed, despite the club policy, even if you are carrying an Assualt rifle. The doc who doesn't questions and doesn't turn you in when he removes the taggant nanite's etchings from your bonelacing, or why they spell "100k:nuyen: reward for return of victim to Aztechnology."

Just a few examples.

Ok, few more notes.

Bonelacing won't set off MAD unless the console options are set to flag it, it is moderately common in my games, at least partial lacings are.

Same for cyberarms.

This doesn't apply to Shadow, but I prefer female chars to be played by female players. (Don't know most of you, sorry been gone a while so this may not matter.)

The Mateba is acceptable as you said 11M, +1 recoil to every shot, even if compensated.

Leowulf, I've seen GhostDragon, and have no problems, but if he's in another game, could I at least see someone else?

BTW, I forgot to read the thread before posting, so I will put you all on notice to give me 5-10 minutes before following up on any post I make, please...

Great flavor text for contacts, GM! In fact, I'm probably going to steal that for the next pen-n-paper SR game I run.

Don't boot me for this but I'm about to be a pain in the ass player. I was thinking on my character and I want to make a couple of small changes to him. Mostly for flavor reasons.

I want him to be seriously involved in the underground racing circuit...specifically motorcycles. So I decided that I needed a better bike skill, and a bike B/R skill. So I subtracted one point from Athletics, dropped Negotiations (wasn't very good at that anyway), and dropped my natural strength by one point (still plenty strong), and used those build points to up my bike skill to 6 and get bike B/R at 4. I also used 1000 of my 1500 remaining resources to get a standard grade datajack for jacking into my bike.

Again, this is mostly for flavor, and could probably offer some interesting ways for Evan to be connected to the other characters. Perhaps they met at a race that was held after midnight on campus or something to that effect.

Let me know if this is cool with you. If so, I can send you a revised char-sheet.

Okay, so Evan doesn't have to fear MADs. Sweet. I can roll with that.

And thanks for clearing the Mateba. I suppose +2 total recoil for the second shot balances it out a bit. And I have no plans to be cheap and try to stick recoil comp on it. I like it just the way it is.

BTW, do you allow speed-loaders for revolvers in your game, or will I have to hand load each round?

Hehe...you should have lied. Not like the GM would have known.

Normally, as a GM I don't care for cross-gender roleplaying, but that's for normal pen&paper games where you are face to face with your players.

However, in games like this, we don't have a physical presence to stomp on our suspension of disbelief. All we have to go off of is little boxes of descriptive text.

Hey GM, let Shock give it a try. I'm sure he can roleplay a girl with no problems.

Hey Shock, just make sure you have your girlfriend handy for some RP tips, and you'll be just fine. :D

I've sent you Blackjack and Biomage as backup characters in case Ghost Dragon dies. Having Blackjack is a good reference in case Ghost Dragon contacts her for decker work.

Hey GM, what year is this game set in? I was under the impression it is 2064 (post YotC). If it isn't, then I'll need to reset my character's birthdate.
