QUOTE (Mr. Smileys @ May 11 2011, 10:32 PM) *
It does not make sense that when trying to shoot at someone who is just wearing an Armor Jacket (8B/6I | 900¥) that it would take -8 to my dice pool to say "BOOM HEADSHOT".
It makes about as much sense as trying to find the unprotected spot on a guy in MilSpec armor with one glove removed and expect a killshot to the hand.

If you want to introduce hit locations into shadowrun you will have a lot of work, especially if you want to make it "realistic". Not only do you need to assign DP,damage modifiers and damage caps, you will have to reevaluate every piece of armor in the game. In SR the Armor Value represents the armor's protective property as well as its coverage. I guess we can agree that a military helmet is made of sturdier material than a leather jacket, yet they both have the same armor value. The popular 6/4 value is shared by the armor vest, the lined coat and the chameleon suit. Guess which material is the flimsiest. All that stuff has to be rewritten for the dubious benefit of realism in a game where people kill with a thought and Dragons eat them if they don't behave.

I prefer to see "armor" as a statistical average.
shoot somebody infinite times with an equal distribution for every body part and now SR armor values make sense. So you just have to play the game long enough (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) It doesn't matter anymore, whether an armor piece protects a small part very good or the whole body but very weakly
