If I get it right now, we were arguing for the same thing from different sides.
You have to make multiple rolls. One for every sence.

Which is why you should strive to have all Senses with the same number of dice for the perception roll. At that point, all you need is a single roll, and then you check your thresholds... all senses that hit that threshold provide useful data to the character. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
