Hey all, I was thinking of making a cleaner for a new game that I will be joining in a couple of weeks time,
I was wondering was you cool kids thought would be the beet way to go about it

We have 420 buy points to make them with
I was thinking maybe a Mage who uses his magic to clean up the place
With some good active and knowlage skills to back up what the magic can't do

Does this sound like a good idea, or what else do I need

Mopping (Hard to reach places) 6 (+2)

Knowledge: Cleaning Products 6

Hehehehe.... sorry bout that. Well. Saying "Cleaner" is always a bit misleading. Some "Cleaners" are pretty much very high level assassins (mostly working alone or in pairs), while others are just very experienced "Advisors".

So are you more of the "Problem will go away"-guy or the "Damn it... call Wolf" - guy? I assume the last one.

I guess moderate physical attributes, high intuition and charisma. Perception enhancing mods, maybe logic boost (or natural high value). A great skillset would be needed. Stealth group, Perception, maybe some B/R skills (to handily provide stuff, fix things). Very good Con, Negotiations, Leadership (To make problems go away and keep people from panicking/working under your command)

If you are a mage, like you said: Cleansing Metamagic can clean up any magical traces in one swift action (Takes a few CT's normaly). Flexible Signature allows you to leave non-fitting traces yourself (if you are to busy to wipe your own stuff). There are spells for cleaning out genetic material. To smuggle people or stuff in/out: Illusions and mindcontrol.

I would also recommend a higher than usual number of contacts (in Law enforcements, Lawyers, Politicians, Activists, Gangs) - Sometimes just a few words and a bit of cash make things better.

There is also the electronic side of the whole deal though. So at least carry a high-rated comlink loaded with a GREAT Search/Destroy Agent to delete data and such, or be a hacker yourself. Also make sure that only the right people find you (You know a lot of secrets) - Encrypted comunication only. Be aware of everything.

Social: Be always prepared. Know potential clients, interactions between syndicates and gangs. Know when you can expect trouble, or when you are called to help some "Persona non Grata".

Make sure you look ordinary. No blue glowing trolls, humans, dwarves or maybe orks are best - they don't stand out so much. Consider the Bland positive quality.

Spells: certainly Sterilize and Pulse. Detect [stuff] spells are also useful, maybe Ignite and Levitate (very versatile). Invisibility, Physical Mask are also useful to get into places. The Influence spell can help to guide people to interpret the facts in an advantageous way.

Shapechange can be useful; rats and sparrows can access all kinds of places. Make sure your body isn't too high to take those shapes though - and that is quite the tradeof.

Make sure you're up to speed on all the HazMat equipment. Also, there actually are stats for using heavy cleaning agents to spoil forensics, I think in Arsenal; C-Squared I think it's called.

Street Magic's Spell Design rules are your friend.

Specifically:
Slaughter RFID, and Slaughter: Sensors. (whichever is the AOE Physical type Physical Damage one).

Ignite is terrible in combat, but great for burning anything you need to get rid of.

Yeah, what does "I was thinking maybe a Mage who uses his magic to clean up the place" mean? Cleansing? Sterilize? Sorceror's apprentice mop animation? Slaughter Ork (for that ethnic cleansing)?

Mage does seem like the way to go.

MAGIC: Cleansing Metamagic, Sterilize Spell.
MATRIX: Agents, Corruption, Edit, Exploit, Stealth.
MUNDANE: C-squared, bodily fluids (from corpses/street docs) [to contaminate a scene], volatile/flammable chemicals. LOTS of contacts.

Flechette rounds means that you'll never leave brass, should you get into a firefight.
If you ride a motorcycle, you'll have an excuse to wear a motorcycle helmet in public. With tinted glass (and as many sensor mods as you can afford) you'll be able to gather a lot of intel w/o being identified.

Ideally, you'll have contacts in Law Enforcement, smugglers, fences, gangers and so on, to "search-and-destroy" evidence and quickly dispose of/sell potentially incriminating evidence to someone in a way that won't lead back to you.

Try a blue glowing troll. You'll blend in with the mage hunting shadowrunner group. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grinbig.gif)

Laes. Because sometimes the thing you really need to clean is memories.

Anything caseless does that, but you're correct if you change 'brass' to 'slugs'.
