You're going astral next to a Horror (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Good luck on that. Going to post IC, but basically Sticks is going to approach the jester and kneel down on one knee in front of him and start with the chatting. While turning every sensor on him. You will see the splending splendidness of having Sticks be your Face! |

QUOTE ou're going astral next to a Horror Don't really have a choice. If we don't get info we probably cannot fight it. I have to say though that I think I picked the right character when I created Gash for Emerging Conflicts: I'm not the greatest of wizards but I am pretty good at fighting magical threats. I think there is plenty of cover if we want it. We are on a road leading out of town with buildings on either side. Some will be tougher than others. Still: It's a brave move with Sticks the Face, and you're the boss you're right even if you are wrong (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) In case we are targeted by spells during the Jester casts any spells: Counterspell (combat): 13 Counterspell (all others): 6 Legundo will add 6 die, but I am not sure how they combine with mine. |

Ok guys, we'll keep this thread trickling along for another couple of weeks (hopefully work will have stabalised a bit by then) and I'll do another round of recruitment and drum up some more players...at least the mechanic is already in place to introduce them without worrying about different timelines etc that we had in Conflict (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ...ah the heady days of GM machinations...have to see what I can come up with for this thread (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ork.gif)

Ok, I reread the concept and I'm hooked, especially if it's Cthulhutech-ish XD.
Any chance I could make an occult scholar-ish mage? Someone who is already slightly unbalanced and might lose sight between reality and simulation? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

@JxJxA
I am playing a mage: but I am mostly a magic suppression mage, so another mage would be good. (see Gash in my characters: a very unoptimised mage) |

I am thinking a "driver"/drone rigger. By drone is it possible for me to get a mecha? I have an idea for a gunbunny(drones) / gearhead that fights for thrills. By driver I mean that she can drive...everything. Would that be appropriate?
PS I would really like to have a mecha kind of like the one featured in the third Matrix movie. That would be awesome. |

@ Seth:
Very nice, I was thinking of making a combat mage. I'm toying with a hermetic wizard whose mentor spirit is a dark goddess. Good combat stuff, but also an antagonistic presence that would screw with his marbles regarding that creepy "darkness" I'm seeing in the IC thread. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Maybe I played too much Hellgate: London, but I would love to make a Cabalist Evoker-type character. Basically, someone who looked for answers in the abyss and never managed to find his way back out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) |

Sticks is a rigger driving a mecha (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
but you know, the more heavies the merrier. |

I've always wanted to play the iconic "Troll with a gun bigger than himself," but could never figure out how to get him around town. Would there be room for some old-fashioned muscle, or do the walker-mechs make such a character obsolete?

@Aria
Seeing as a walker mech is 30 availability and over 600,000 nuyen I assume we won't be able to have that at character gen will we? Edit: Please, oh please, let me have it at character gen *puppy face* Edit Edit: My mouth is watering while looking at the Ares Heavy Rail Gun |

Ok, quick note before I plunge into meetings again all day ((IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif) )
You get up to availability 20 without a quality or higher if you have 'restricted gear'. You get a bonus 30,000 nuyen but otherwise the max BPs is still 50 on resources as normal. So, whatever you can buy with that lot goes...there are 3 example mecha in the armour/weapon packages in the first post of the thread. They are made using the vehicle mod rules (but look like giant robot suits...) One thing to bear in mind though: you are attacking an Azzie stronghold - they WILL have big guns and probably some mecha. Stealth might be a better approach initially. You get the 'events' to bring in air strikes etc and the point of the convoy is that they will move in to secure the base once you have performed the first strike to disable key defenses (don't want the grunts to do all the work when there are specialists on hand (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ) Any questions just shout! |

For clarification, I don't have War!, so I really have no idea what the mechs are capable of, hence the question. Tricked-out assault armor on top of bone lacing and dermal plating is exactly what I had in mind. Guess I'll get to number-crunching.

The mechas are converted bikes/cars from Arsenal - even with your bonuses the stuff in War! is probably out of your pay scale reach (of course your eeeevil Azzie opponents might have access to it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ork.gif) ) |

Almost have my mage "Trismegistus" ready, but I was wondering how character progression goes in this game. Are there karma/nuyen awards with each encounter/story arc?

That way you can track your own and I don't have to worry about it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

No you don't - if you click on the number of posts section (Replies) in the 'root menu' (Dumpshock Forums > Discussion > Welcome to the Shadows) you get a break down of how many times each person has posted! Found it by accident but it's a very useful bit of info (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Wow that is a nice piece feature. I've only been using this site a year and I didn't know about it. @General Just checking my understanding of our status:
