@Aria
I'm afraid I don't do infiltration at the moment: I have a huge force 7 spirit zapper whirling around me at a range of 4m, as well as loads of spells active, and I am flying in free space with no barriers to line of sight: I'm not planning on getting closer than say a couple of hundred meters (that gives me a couple of seconds to react if a spirit comes for me: I know we can do 1000 mph, but I don't think we have fine control on that). I do have a concealment 6 running, which means that it's us to you if the watchers see me or not: standard watchers would probably fail to see me, but then you have to ask what is the point of watchers? |

Ok, so here's a new build for Trismegistus. Thanks again for all the help, and let me know if I missed anything else. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
I'm still not sure what knowledge skills I should take. Is it possible to take stuff on the Ogou or "The Darkness"? Edit---I decided to take "The Darkness" as a knowledge skill at lvl 3. Let me know if that's ok, Aria. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Build [ Spoiler ]

OK, preparing for combat:
Summoning a Force 7 Fire Spirit: Summoning Test: Magic(5) + Summoning(4) + Power Focus(4) = 13d6 for 6 hits. Spirit's Opposed Test: Force(7) = 7d6 for 3 hits for 3 services. Drain Resist: Willpower(5) + Logic(5) + Centering(1) = 11d6 for 2 hits. OUCH. Spending a point of edge to eroll misses for 1 hit. I'm somewhat stupid because I should have cast that increased willpower/logic spell before doing this... I got worried about not having the dice for the summoning test. Lesson learned. x_x Stats for Fire Spirit: Anima's Aspect of Fury [ Spoiler ] Casting Increase Logic at Force 5: Spellcasting Test: Magic(5) + Spellcasting(6) + Power Focus(4) + Mentor Spirit(2) - Wound Mod(1) = 16d6 for 6 hits, but only 5 count and my augmented Logic is capped at 9. Drain Resist: (5/2)-2=0, so rolling against 1 minimum for drain Willpower(5) + Logic(9) + Centering(1) - Wound Mod(1) = 14d6 for 2 hits. First Aid On Drain Damage: Logic(9) + First Aid(2) + Specialization(2) + Medkit(6) - Wound Mod(1) - Sustaining(2) = 16d6 for 5 hits. Physical damage is all gone, phew. Casting Increase Reflexes at Force 4: Magic(5) + Spellcasting(6) + Power Focus(4) + Mentor Spirit(2) - Sustaining(2) = 15d6 for 4 hits. Dropping it in the sustaining focus. Drain Resist: (4/2)+2 = 4 Willpower(5) + Logic(9) + Centering(1) - Sustaining(2) = 13d6 for 4 hits. No drain, hooray! With that all that casting out of the way, I'll drop Increase Logic so I have my full dice pools. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Oops, should probably make a composure test on The Darkness: Will(5) + Cha(3) = 8d6 for 0 hits. I'll be spending my spare time while flying poring over notes... |

Why am I saddled with 3 people who want to make Sticks shoot them in the head?

Whoa, Jax ain't done nothing to get her shot in the head. I mean seriously, she went up against a horror. That's enough to spook anybody. I mean the whole thing happened only two hours ago, her sit rep is going to be anything but textbook professional. She will get better, she is a survivor. That is one of her main character traits, which adds an interesting dichotomy between enjoying the thrill of battle and self preservation.
This isn't the first time she was one of the only ones who survived an attack...That and she isn't really the most stellar soldier when it comes to procedure :/ She is kind of a wild child. Besides, I got the impression that this game was for characters that were the best in their field and usually those that are the best have glaring character flaws. |

just saying, people who like to not follow orders. In war time, with an Old School Master Seargent, who really wishes he had an officer.
What could go wrong (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

Ahahaha not a truer statement has been spoken. I follow orders, it is scholar boy you have to worry about (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) Besides, Jax will most likely follow your orders out of respect for your abilities. She follows people of merit and ability, not wussy officers with no combat experience sitting in their comm centers sipping coffee. She is a field officer kind of gal (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Lol, Trismegistus is fine so long as you don't cross him. What else should you expect from someone named Robert Curwen? One namesake wrote Conan and Kull and others, the other was a Lovecraftian villain. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

What could go wrong (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Get Sticks a peaked cap and a trench coat and call him a Commisar - will sort all your insubordination issues (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) EDIT: I apologise for the slight cop out of giving you aerial transport - I will try to make it interesting (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ork.gif) ...I want to get you moving towards the main event rather than have you all get bored on the journey! |

I'm backing Sticks...This is a classic in war dramas, so have this out. But it's also a classic in the war drama that the master sergeant wins, so remember that too.
And while his bullets might bounce...my attacks won't. |

Are you sure my attacks will bounce?
White phospherous grenades and a Minigun on fullburst with AP rounds? That's all kinds of nasty. Also, can you put a copy of your char sheet in the thread? My Firewall completely blocks what ever that site is. |

...is it something I said? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif)
Edit: Aria, you'll have to keep me honest with the Vindictive flaw. I'll try my best to roll it when it looks appropriate. I didn't think Stick's comment was an insult/slight, but I'll make a composure check if you want me to. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Also, should take some LZ sweeping maneuvers:
Casting Increased Willpower @ Force 5: Magic(5) + Spellcasting(6) + Power Focus(4) + Mentor Spirit(2) = 17d6 for 6 hits, only 5 count and Willpower is up to 9. I'm going to make a concerted effort to get Tris to play nice with the team. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Resist Drain: (5/2)-2= 0, so rolling against the minimum 1S Willpower(9) + Logic(5) + Centering(1) = 15d6 for 3 hits. Summoning 3 Watchers for 1 hour each: Watcher #1: Magic(5) + Summoning(4) + Power Focus(4) - Sustain(2) = 11d6 for 2 hits. Resist Drain: 1S for 1 hour Willpower(9) + Logic(5) + Centering(1) - Sustain(2) = 13d6 for 3 hits. Watcher #2: Magic(5) + Summoning(4) + Power Focus(4) - Sustain(2) = 11d6 for 4 hits. Resist Drain: 1S for 1 hour Willpower(9) + Logic(5) + Centering(1) - Sustain(2) = 13d6 for 5 hits + 0 hits (forgot to add 2 extra dice, I figured I'd roll them just in case it caused a glitch and Dagon jumped out of my nose). Watcher #3: Magic(5) + Summoning(4) + Power Focus(4) - Sustain(2) = 11d6 for 4 hits. Resist Drain: 1S for 1 hour Willpower(9) + Logic(5) + Centering(1) - Sustain(2) = 13d6 for 5 hits. I'm telling the watchers to patrol the LZ and let me know if any astral signatures similar to The Darkness and its minions are in the area. I'm also spending a service to ask my fire spirit to make an assensing test to scan the LZ for potential enemies: Int(7) + Assensing(7) = 14d6 for 4 hits. |
