I'm thinking about doing this as a short run, the runners are hired to scare strait a group of troublemaker corp kids.

Anyone care to share some horror stories why you don't want to grow up to be a Shadowrunner.

25% of all "shadowrunners" die on their first run.

Of the survivors, 50% won't live past their 10th run.

Crime does not pay!

Take a page from the (old) shadowrun SNES game: someone got their hands on you, knocked you out, installed a cranial bomb and you woke up dead in a morgue.

"okay kids, heres how it is. we got hired to scare the crap out of you so you behave. now, the easy way to do this is using this here PAB unit. but if that dosent work, we WILL find you, and make you wish you were never born."

honestly, personafix is so easy that hiring kidnappers to doublecross you is simply not worth the risk. a stupid runner team will have a ransom demand, a smart runner team will hand back sleeper agents and get even more of your nuyen long-run.

I think it could be fun. But why not leave it up to the players to come up with ways to scare them? There are few things players enjoy more than morally-justified sadism (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

Anyone care to share some horror stories why you don't want to grow up to be a Shadowrunner.

Just show them videos of FRT virtual training against elite runners, then of footage of a newbie runner team caught by the FRT.

Then tell them that they have to be afraid everytime there is an unexpected knock on the door. And that even an expected knock can mean trouble.

If they are smart, they´ll take every opportunity to get some start-up skills and gear before they turn runner. CorpMil for the samurai wannabees, various tech jobs for the hacker/rigger, formal training for the magicians. So even if one does not convince them that running is bad, you can make them behave and collect the prize.

Hell, make them meet some of the borderline sociopaths who shoot people in the face for money that will make up their team. Bet they're working on that resume for Stuffer Shack as we speak after that!

Thing is, with Neo-@ Families, that just won't work. I mean, hell, look at Slamm-0!.

1) Hot sim module
2) Trodes
3) A collection of the last simrig recording made by shadowrunners who died.

Add a classic soundtrack such as Jim Carroll Band's "People Who Died".
