So in Anatomy of a Shadowrun, the technomancer performs threading on page 2:

QUOTE
In hot sim VR she receives a +2 modifier to all her Matrix tests; so she rolls Software 3 (Threading +2) + Resonance 5 with +2 modifiers for a total of 12 dice.

What's with the (Threading +2) there? Why does she get an additional +2? Is this the oft-recommended threading skill specialization?

Also, later when Ladybug resists fading:

QUOTE
She makes a Damage Resistance Test rolling Resonance 5 + Charisma 5 with +2 modifiers for a total of 12 dice.

Does she get that +2 because she's in hot sim? Also, why is she rolling Charisma to resist fading? Is this like a different technomancer "tradition"? 'Cause SR4A p.243 says it should be Willpower.

Thanks in advance!

Ketchum--In your first example, the "+2 modifiers" is for hot sim VR. "Threading +2" is a specialization of Software. Her total dice pool is: 3 (Software) + 2 (Specialization) + 5 (Resonance) + 2 (Hot Sim).

Technoshamans and Networkers (Unwired, 140 & 139 respectively) resist with Charisma + Resonance. I'd have to re-read that draft to see if it lists her paragon.
