Here's a thought. If a masking ward can mask all magical signatures behind it then can a masking ward be inscribed into say clothing like a cloak? By doing this a mage could hide foci under the Masking Ward Cloak.

somebody had the idea of using something similar to a duckblind when on overwatch.

the problem was that so many things a mundane can do to hide physically can be trumped by a passing watcher spirit or a mage that flicks to percepttion for a second. Aura extends beyond clothing and armor. the suggested solution was a hardsided box with a one-way glass window (think mirror but not shiny, dull)

you could maybe ward that?
