For tasers-and-spirits, sure. But a basic viewpoint of 'there's no logic in the whole game, because magic exists' is fundamentally bad. It means we can't care about grenades being realistically dangerous, or how fast the aircraft are (aren't), or the effects of known toxins. I'm just saying that it's better to handwave specific, clearly magical situations than to handwave the entire game. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Nature sometimes does overkill. So a bite injects many doses. Cognitive dissonance solved. Indeed it does. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wobble.gif) |

Nature sometimes does overkill. So a bite injects many doses. Cognitive dissonance solved. I understand, but it's not mentioned that way in the book. Also, Platypus venom states it rarely kills someone but it's like 6S damage. Four doses would be lethal to a normal person. |

Maybe there is some kind of convention in the SR universe. a 'dose' is built to do around 6S damage. From a platypus, it may be 10 ccs of active agent, whereas from a black mamba it could be 1 cc.

I have always seen it as such. Dose sizes are in relation to the toxin, after all, not a universal amount that is standardized across the board. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

And, of course, that is a reason why the answer to "how many doses should I use to kill someone?" remains, as in nature, "all the doses. All of them." If you're trying to kill someone, you don't make it a narrow thing they might survive. In poison, like so many things, if it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing. Ten doses, maybe?

But that's *expensive*. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif) Especially when 2-3 will work just fine. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I'm a bit confuesed, though, how we ended up on Toxins and Dosage on a thread for Banishing. *shrug* oh well... |

I was just trying to illustrate another way we could bring up toxins on a Banishment thread.
And it's completely RAW. |

*Shrug* Using common sense to decide how to interpret, alter or ditch rules is also RAW. (SR4A, p. 60)
