I just found out there's BattleBronies to go with ShadowBronies. I'm even more scared now.

MLP is like Rule 34 except without the porn. Find some hobby, you will find fans that have blended MLP with that hobby. Then there's Rule 34 MLP which I hope I never see any more of than what was featured on Tosh.0.

The fact that some of the most talented artists in the fandom also do R34 art doesn't make avoiding it easier (IMG:style_emoticons/default/embarrassed.gif)

Of course, if you still attend a public school (using the American sense of the word,) then pretty much nothing MLP is safe for school if you were equipped at birth with a penis and testes. You are likely to be subjected to a savage assbeating should you be caught looking at Ponies in school if so.

On the other hand you'd have a lot of female friends. Also... Do people really work like that? I mean beating someone up seem like... Ineffective bullying. You have one shot then angry parents on your neck.
Then again if you got the cerebral fortitude of an hollowed out bucket, being subtle is probably not on the agenda.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work this way.

The schools, the police, and so forth do not take bullying seriously. "Boys will be boys", they say. "It was just a little rough-housing", they say. "No harm was meant", they say.

Like being twelve or fifteen or whatever, renders someone incapable of being a jerk who's too willing to use hsi fists and feet to do injury to others.

And even where there are anti-bullying laws, programs, initiatives, or even just school rules? A lot of Fundamentalist groups have fought hard to put in a "religious exception" in place .... pretty much legalising things like gay-bashing among kids.

Not really. "Boys will be boys." Parents are, in my experience, very reluctant to take any sort of legal action against children who have harmed theirs, especially when the school doesn't seem to think it's that big a deal, choosing instead to assign detention instead of, say, expulsion and criminal charges.

Or did you mean the bully's parents? Because here's the conversation I see going down.

"Boy, what's this shit about? Why's the principal of your god-damn school breathin' down my neck. Says you put the boots to someone else?"
"Yeah, but dad, he was looking at My Little Pony stuff."
"What? They're pissed off 'cause you put the boots to some f*****t dickless f*g lookin' at god-damned My Little Pony? Librul bleedin' hearts. Fuck 'em all."
"So I can go?"
"What? Yeah! Get the fuck outta here, Judge Judy's about to come on... Stupid librul f****ts. Betcha that principal's a *f****t, too."

Or something to that effect.

Legal action?
It's called having your dad show up at school and scaring the shit out of the bullies.
Schools shouldn't be parenting, parents should.

Then again here you can't press charges/sue someone for looking at them wrong.

Great, because nothing says "family loyalty" like visiting your dad in prison after he turns up at your school to scare the shit out of the kid who bullied you, only to get tackled and arrested for making terroristic threats on a school's grounds.

.... and then going to jail.

Seriously. Parents don't show up at schools to scare someone else's kids, and not be the ones on the receiving end of criminal charges.

"One kid punches another, or shoves the other one in a locker? That's what kids do. Give the aggressor a couple days' detention and that's it. We don't want to do anythin drastic that would permanently affect his/her FUTURE, do we??"

--versus--

"An adult makes a kid feel threatened, at teh child's school ...? OMG, Columbine and Newtown and *screamign panic* ...!!"

Really, that's how it works. I was on the receiving end of bullying my entire youth. In third or fourth grade, I wassurrounded by a bully and her six or eight friends - with 30 or 40 onlookers cheerign them on. And had the lead bully threatening to break bottles or my head.v These were eight and nine year old kids. And the actual bullies were known fight-starters, bullies, and general (violent) trouble-makers. Known to the schools, AND to the police.

Do I need to bother telling you to guess what was done to them, for that day?

Unless he physically assaults the kids (which is highly unlikely as it's not only socially abhorrent but also illegal to physically discipline here), it's something to be resolved parent to parent. School may have a part in it if it's widespread.

I really don't see that going down without criminal charges unless the dad in question is on the school board and plays poker with every police chief and district attorney in his state here.

Let's just leave it at that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
America... Can at times be rather nonsensical with what they bring to court, in my opinion. But rather not have that become a whole debacle.
