So is the big objection to flattish wards (3D, but with one dimension fairly small, for example 5cm x 1m x 1m) that they might be too useful/abused by clever people? Or is there a metaphysical idea behind it? Mana Barrier + quickening. Fairly sure that works, since Area spells can be shaped - but I don't recall off the top of my head if that spell has the area tag. |

Keep in mind that there's more than one way to "ward" something against magic. Biofiber, FAB II, Guardian Vines, etc. There are even semi-generic rules that don't go into intimate detail for how or why they work, such as Shielded Smuggling Compartments in Arsenal (p. 144).
I think it's better to use the right tool for the job rather than trying to manipulate the rules for warding so that they cover everything. Besides, considering how relatively easy it is to defeat or bypass a ward, it's not that great of a security measure. Especially if the opponent doesn't care if you know if they're coming or not, such as attacking you in a van. |

That question will be answered in an upcoming sourcebook. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
In the current RAW, there's no question of *ramming*, just of movement. |

I would suggest that momentum and inertia mean nothing on the Astral plane. Interacting with a ward does not cause damage
More than likely, astral forms would simply be displaced from the path of an oncoming ward unless they chose to resist, at which point the normal rules for breaking barries take effect. |
