Alrighty then, here is the skinny. This campaign is under the 2072 umbrella and centered around bounty hunters. Here is the set-up: the players are a bounty hunting team that follow contracts on notorious criminals, wanted persons, etc. This campaign is meant to be episodic so there is no real definitive plot, but there is a vague overarching plot that may or may not come up depending on the actions of the characters. I encourage my players to come up with pretty intricate back stories so I can work in some personal quests for you all. Also I HIGHLY encourage that you create stories about your past exploits with your team members. You all have been together for about 2 years so you know each other pretty well. I like this set up because it promotes group cohesion, which I more or less expect because when you in the shadows you need friends not enemies. So here is the details about character creation:

Character Gen / Game Notes:

400BPs standard. All books, all races as long as it’s RAW

Cha x2 in free contacts

Starting characters all get a +10 karma bonus. This karma can be swapped for nuyen on a 1 / 2500¥ basis (characters already on the thread get this bonus + those for IC posts in place of any karma earnt so far, it should balance)

You can have multiple PCs (and they don’t all have to be shadowrunners, any denizen of the sixth world that interests you and has roleplay potential is fair game)

Karma awards are number of IC posts / 2 and then split across your PCs any way you want.

You get 2500¥ per number of IC posts / 2, split as above

GMs can make separate awards of cash / karma for good roleplaying, story advancement etc, just record who made the award on your PC’s sheet. This allows for one off big purchases that might otherwise take an excessive amount of time to get.

IC posts can be as any character, or as a GM or anything that moves the game world forwards – see below for more detail on the game world

Character sheet posts can be in any legible format. Please note on it how much karma you have spent as you may end up splitting your awards across a number of PCs.

Please start IC posts with:
@ (PC or GM you want to respond to the thread) + [Your Character Name]
[Time & Location]

So that is about it. Please reply to respond and post your character sheet and once I get four players we can start.

Nice start Friendbot

I'll hold off character design until I see what others are doing if that's OK

Like I mentioned in the other thread, I'll be rolling up a sneaky pistol specialist. Blame Deus Ex.

I was going to roll a mage, but I'm starting to think this might be a good game for my Kung Faux-inspired adept. A backstreet brawler turned bounty hunter sounds like a good intro for him. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Haha, he totally will. His middle name is "Bad Choices":

"There's a wall blocking us!"

"Screw that wall, suckas! I'll punch the mofucka down!"

WHAM!!!

"How'd that work out for you?"

"Yo, I think I broke my fist, y'all..."

Logic 2 isn't "Mr Thick" About a quarter of the people you know in real life will be at Logic 2.
Even Logic 1 isn't dysfunctional: it's only "Weak".

You probably want to get a disadvantage: uncouth/uneducated... to represent total RedNeck-ness.

I thought about taking uncouth, but I figured it would be too tempting to get him to say, "I like the look of them broads over there, B," to someone important about their wife/daughter/sister. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

Possibly calling a Mr. J's daughter a lady of the night with a plump posterior, to use more polite parlance... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

Oh come on Seth, that just makes the GMs job more fun (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

I was under the impression that a score of 3 was average and below that was below average. Huh, learn something new every day.

It is, but a 2 is only slightly below average. While not the brightest bulb, he won't necessarily be a complete moron.

Yeah, I won't be solving any complex mysteries. And if I do, it's probably because it's just like something I saw on Metapeople's Court. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

I think the 2-4 stat range represent a a +/- 1 standard deviation range on the bell curve. Once you start breaking out of there is when your truly exceptional...in a good way or a bad. I figure they don't allow 0 because any stat equivalent to 0 would be utterly crippled. That said, 2 is still...kind of dumb.

For LOG 2-4 i tend to think thusly in modern American academic parlance:

2: Concepts started getting hard to grasp in high school. Not in the "I'm from the bad part of LA and don't want to go to school", but "I'm legitimately trying to learn this shit, and it is hard"
3: High school was boring. College entirely a result of social background.
4: High school consisted of AP classes and a small group of classmates who all seemed to go to the same ones.

My logic score being what it is, I added a background and short contact dossier for Stringer in the original post.

Considering adding a face, but the contacts BPs are already soaring into the 30s and I'm not through half the factions in the city you would need to appease and such...

Got the idea to play a straight up bounty hunter, a dwarf by the name of Jericho "McBoomBoom" Johnson. A cowboy and a maverick who gets his man or creature, which ever pays the most nuyen. More than one person has underestimated his short stature as a deterrent till they realize that their knees are easier to break.

I would be willing to work with you on the contacts if you can justify them through back story. I also have a tendency to give contacts in game too.

@Foxx
Hmmm, what sort of weapons would you be using? Melee would be interesting, I picture you kneecapping people with a tire iron or some version of club to be honest XD

considering his str and body are going to be his highest attributes at the moment, I was thinking of something more civil: a combat axe, sprinkled with batons, stun batons, shock gloves and a heavy meaty fist just in case. Tire irons can round out his arsenal of just-in-case weapons.

...your stats are whacked off,u know that stat's start w/1's (exept edge)
for body 40bp gives u Body 5, Agil 50 bp is too much,( 6 is max to human un-mod,5 to 6 cost 25 bp,giving only 40 bp makes it correct),
same thing about reaction..the rest of normal stats are to be raised by 1 (if bp costs are same)

I know I said I was overcommitted but if this is all happenning in the 2072 thread then it strikes me that this would be a great place to play my AI character Shrike?!? She's mostly rigger with some hacking and combat skills on top...I want to tweak her a bit before I post a link though...

and she's allready woven into the Dysfunctional Family thread, even if it's only as transport for you all (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'd allow an AI, but may I ask why he is a bounty hunter?

She's an eGhost created in the Stillwater UV node (Emerging games)...killed by mercs she is hunting them to find the truth about her assassination. She needs to fund her hunt and she was a former shadowrunner (although she doesn't remember that...). She has a mixed relationship with humanity - she craves contact with them but also blames them for her current state. It doesn't strike me as too much of a leap to assume she'd take cash to hunt down the dregs of society...?!?
