I would be more than happy to have you along pbangarth. I like how our group is full of interesting people.
Seeing as your group has been working as a team for a while I encourage you all to come up with a team name. we can put it up for a vote once we get some suggestions. I am thinking something that refers to your eclectic composition of members. I mean you have an AI, a free spirit, an angel, a balls to the walls bounty hunter, a not so bright street brawler, and I think that Appliedcheese was making a face? @Zephraim Are you still making that sneaky pistol specialist? @Applied Cheese Are you still making that face? I will give you some more free contact points if that is what is holding you. In my games I generally give faces some leeway with contacts seeing as they are the main social people that know people that know people etc. I think we will cap the players at 7, which also makes for an interesting team name if Applied Cheese and Zephraim are playing.........dun dun dun THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN!!!! I know, its corny, but I like that movie (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) |

OK, I'll start working on building Yazata to your specifications. I will be traveling 7 October to 16 October. By when do you need fleshed out PCs?

In the first post, Friendbot2000, you mention info about the game world coming up. Anything that will be useful in chargen?

The mechanical parts of the character is posted already, I'm working on the background. I'm thinking that he used to work for one of the big corps in Denver before getting in over his head and "relocating" to Seattle.

Ah sorry Zephraim, I must have skipped over that post. I have your information all noted.
The game world is just the canon 2072 setting. I haven't prepared anything special about the world setting exactly. We are located in Seattle and that is about it. Once the IC thread starts I can reveal more about what is going on at the time etc, but for now just assume that all current events in canon occur in this world too. I hope that answered your question... |

"Angellls, avenging angellls,
We are angellls, avenging angellls, When the bad guyyyys come riding by, We blow their balls so high, We're angellllss...." OK...uhh... Yazata likes it. I guess the Rastafarian Tradition and the Zoroastrian Tradition are not close enough that Seth's PC and mine could do Ritual Magic together, huh Friendbot? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wobble.gif) |

@Pbangarth
If we want to we can join the same magical group, then we can do ritual magic. I think ritual magic will have a place in this game: we need it to track people from DNA samples (we are bounty hunters after all). Don't forget though that as a free spirit I can add my force to your spell casting rolls, which will probably be more effective than supporting you as a magician. |

Yeah, I would be all for you two being part of a group together am pretty lax on character creation rules by the way. If you can justify something to my satisfaction I will allow it. I am kind of partial to action hero style games to be honest. It satisfies my need for corny action (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)
On a side note that I HAVE to share: I just have to share an experience I had last night running my skype campaign. So the group meet an additional player who has vital information about a serial arsonist the party is trying to track down. He asks him to meet him in a tea shop in the barrens and right as they are in the middle of the meeting a bunch of go gangers come to collect late protection money. Now Ghost, the ex-Yak ninja character that organized the meeting rents a room from the owners of the tea shop so he has every reason to defend the shop from these gangers. Plus, he had not told the other players the information yet so he had leverage on them. So he told the PCs he would tell them everything if they defended the shop from the gangers. Now the party is made up of a technomancer face, a rigger wheelwoman, and a ghoul street sammi (I only allowed it for roleplaying purposes, it works out well though), and now a elf ninja that has a force 3 magic nodachi and a force three magic bow. (I gave the magic sword a special property that allows it to be called to the PC as a free action, it is part of the characters back story. THe sword and the bow were given to his family many, many centuries ago by a powerful spirit that his ancestor saved from a group of magicians that sought to bind it permenantly, as a boon he made a pact with the family to watch over them and be their guardian. He gave the ancestor these weapons as a boon and taught him the way of the warrior). Anyways, I digress. So the ninja did not have his weapons with him at that time so I allowed him to call his nodachi right there in the shop. Basically when the nodachi is called the character has to say a power word in ancient primordial that resonates through the metaplanes and calls the sword to teleport through them and into his hand. When it appeared I described as a near blinding flash of light and a multicolored beam of light appears in his hand and solidifies into the sword. The other characters readied their guns and they DESTROYED these gangers. The ninja rolled so well he sliced several of them IN HALF and the rest of the party filled all of them full of lead and executed the wounded. (they are kind of a vigilante group. The ghoul is ex Lonestar who was disgruntled by the inability to uphold the law in the barrens so he really likes to bring justice in the form of a gun). Nest I mentioned that the rest of the gang will most likely seek revenge on the owners for their friends deaths. They all agreed to go to this groups hide out and destroy them permanently, freeing the neighborhood from their reign of terror. So they get there and come up with the most kick ass plan. The ninja climbed up to the rafters of the warehouse with his mad skills and awaited a signal in the form of the rigger crashing through the wall of the warehouse with her armored SUV, doing a 180 brutally murdering three of the flavor kill mooks in the process. The rest of the team spills out guns blazing. The ninja then vaults down from the cieling and does so well on the gymnastics roll that she get a free slice in and separates a guy from his legs and beheads another flavor kill mook. After they kill all the flavor mooks as their surprise round they focus in on the challenge of three 400BP build trolls and dispatch them after a heated battle of guns and blades. In the aftermath they steal all of the now dead gangs vehicles and sell them to a chop shop and claim one street cred for their mass murder of this gang. The neighborhood is free of gang rule because they are terrified to even step foot on it due to the idea that it is under this groups protection and they get the owners of the tea shop as a contact. IT WAS AMAZING! I apologize if this is the wrong place to put this, but I thought all of you would appreciate it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Are you sure you don't want to play Feng Shui or Weapons Of The Gods, both of which are awesome butt kicking games.
Mind you it's cooler to do awesome butt kicking in a game in which you are quite fragile. @JxJxA And please: give those health warning for TV tropes...I lost another hour |

I got lucky on my WIL roll and pulled out of tvtropes after a few minutes. Corny action, huh, Friendbot? Alright!
@seth, I'm having ... fun... bringing Yazata from the 600 BP of the other game to 400 BP here, so I don't think I can afford to join a group ahead of time. I ran through the first pass and went, "Hey, he has no spells!" Your suggestion of Aid Sorcery is a good one. Even with 1 rank in Ritual Spellcasting for Yazata, we could do something. Just as a side note, Aid Sorcery also applies to Counterspelling. |

As i sit here poring over my extensive list of contacts, I'm also wondering about biosculpting and the artisan skill. Biosculpting doesn't have any set rules, but I'm wondering what the price for a slight CHA bonus would be? Also, Artisan 4 (vocalist) is going in: is there naything you'd like me to refine on that?
The basic back concept is she was going to be a lead pop vocalist. Horizon flew her little garage band out to LA. Spent a little getting her brand name ready. Then auditions came and went: they took the lead guitarist and decided to synch him up with a different group instead and left the star-struck band to fend for themselves. Cash ran out, they broke apart - and it turns out that the shadows will drop a pretty penny for someone who can slip gracefully into all sorts of social situations and come out with information. And, on a personal level, the other options were just not acceptable. |

Hmm I would be willing to allow a slight charisma boost for biosculpting. Make me up a proposal and we will go from there. |

I'm sure there's precedents in various qualities / 'ware for giving a social skills bonus of 1-2D if it's appropriate...might be better than a direct charisma bonus? ...just my thoughts, you get to make all the hard GM decisions on this one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I've updated Shrike with a few skills I had forgotten and finished off her gear...it's amazing how quickly 50BPs of gear gets used up (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif)
Ah well, will have to go shopping once we complete our first job (how's that for optimism? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ) |

Yeah I will go for a 1 to 2 bonus to all social tests except for Intimidation.
+1 = 15,000 +2 = 30,000 @Aria Don't worry. I have never killed one of my players in my many years as a GM, but don't think I will take it easy on you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

As an AI I am extremely difficult to kill (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) I was referring to the assumption that we suceed on our mission which is a vastly different thing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

You will succeed, but it will take some real critical thinking. I don't pull any punches with my adventures. I am a mean GM >:)
I also will fudge rules for awesomeness. Like I said, I have a weakness for action movie moments, something a lot of my regular players exploit for maximum awesomeness. After all, RPGs are supposed to be fun. What is more fun than being action Anti-Heros? Seriously though, my players take advantage of my corniness XD I vote for you all to be called the Magnificent Seven. Who is with me?? IF you don't know the movie "The Magnificent Seven is, it is an old western cowboy movie that is pretty amazing. I am very fond of westerns. My dad raised me on John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. |
