I'll third the name! Who can hate that movie? Steve McQueen? Charles Bronson? Yul Brynner? Robert Vaughn? James Coburn? Eli Wallach? It's basically pure testosterone in film format!

After a conversation with our GM I have come to the conclusion that Shrike hasn't told any of you her real nature. The mages will know that the avatar is just a drone, even if it looks perfectly human, so there is possibly an assumption that she is a hacker who never meets in the flesh - draw your own conclusions as you will...
Of course I might reconsider but most shadowrunners are cagey about their pasts so I don't see it being an issue that would stop us working together. Thoughts? |

Stringer doesn't care so long as Shrike does her job and keeps it real. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)
PS-I'm so looking forward to this game. I've been watching Kung Faux, listening to old skool rap, and trying to remember all the crazy stuff Master Shake says in ATHF. I apologize for the crazy lingo I will churn out in advance... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

I don't think you can keep it up. I have tried in loads of games to do things like that and it always backfires: Look at Zaranthan and his Nosferatu. His disguise lasted precisely no time.
Now if we are playing Paranoia, or some other backstabbing game, I'm with you: there isn't the assumption of trust in the other players. I think rigid honesty is the best policy with a team but YMMV. |

I take your point but she is partially deluding herself about her nature! She spends the majority of her time jumped in and is effectively 'there' ...I've also realised that the mimic is living flesh so that should be the equivalent of a zero essence human?!? Might not fool for very long but...
Pixel managed to keep her secret... Well, sort of (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) |

Seth does have a point that honesty is the best path for a shadowrun team. Seeing as you have been running with your group for a while it would make sense that you would let on that you are an AI. However it would also make sense that you wouldn't tell them.
Oh and I think it would be easier to hide being an AI than it is to be a Nosferatu...just saying (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) Lots of hackers don't meet in person so she has a perfect cover really. Or maybe she doesn't really feel she IS an AI. Aria is probably right and she is deluding herself. That would be the logical step for someone who has been through this kind of trauma. Okay so do I have everyone's character sheets? |

Trust in the team yes; lie, cheat, and steal from everyone else, also yes.
I'm not opposed to the A.I. making pretend to be real, thinking that she is really real and such. After all, its not like the group dosen't know about Jericho's bad luck with the mob and how much they truly, truly, hate him. How else do you explain the drive-by and men in nice shoots and really big guns showing up at inappropriate times. You got my sheet, Friendbot, so i'm good to go. |

I will try to post Yazata's stats by tomorrow. Tomorrow night I am going to England to visit my daughter, so if I don't get him on DS in time for things to start, just go ahead without me.

Alright we are going to start next week on Monday, but first I will go over my GM'ing style.
-I fully support metagaming in combat. I think it is crucial for players to strategize while in combat. I don't consider it to be taboo because you all are professionals that know each others weaknesses and instinctively know how to best augment the teams abilities due to a very acute survival instinct. If you don't have this instinct then you shouldn't be a shadowrunner in the first place. So don't be afraid to coordinate your attacks in the OOC thread. I am not putting you against normal out of the book enemies. I make my own custom enemies and they are NOT friendly. If you work together you will be fine. -I have a general policy to not kill PCs unless they do something heinously stupid or they just deserve it. So be smart and you will live. Be dumb and you will most likely die, but that is what edge is for right? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) In my tenure as a GM I think I have only killed one PC. A troll street samurai rolled really well with his claymore and sliced through the players 18 armor so badly they were taking 12 boxes of damage. Again, that is when I roll well...which rarely happens x.x -I like to have awesome moments in games. I like the action movie feel of games and I think that Shadowrun is the perfect setting for that. It is perfect for awesome stunts and you will get bonus xp and maybe extra edge if you can pull off some amazing things. -I like side quests, be prepared for some (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) -Be prepared for twists, I like twists -If you squick at twisted villains then you might not like my games. I have a talent for making really sick individuals and they are not very nice. On the bright side you have no qualms about killing them because they are so evil :B -If you can think outside the box, you will be rewarded. I often put environmental advantages and disadvantages in combat so if you take advantage of my descriptions then you may be rewarded by some interesting outcomes (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Umm that is about it. Oh wait, I generally like to go for Chaotic Nuetral up to Good style PC characters. I have never been one for evil party members. It is just my personal preference. I feel that while evil PCs are somewhat interesting, they also go against the party make up a lot of the time and really botch things up and make a lot of players frustrated. That is just my experience though. I do not however have a problem with self serving PCs. Just blatantly evil ones. The way I play characters in Shadowrun is Survival of the Fittest. If my character is not liking where the group is going he will make his own arrangements on the side for possible escape routes. Sometimes I have even betrayed the group because it was true to my characters motivations. That character got a deal he couldn't refuse by an NPC so he had a good reason. I never do anything against the team unless I have a good reason and it is within my characters roleplaying style and personality. I am a hardcore Rp'er like that. The group alignment works for Jericho, he's always been mercenary leaning towards heart of gold. Other words he's got a soft spot for the down trodden, everyone else has to pay.

OK, here's a 400 BP base for Yazata. I will flesh out personality etc., but this will allow play to start. He really is a newbie character. I guess whatever got him kicked out of heaven was some serious shit, and he's gotta earn his way back in.

Think I've added everyone's characters to the 2072 main OoC thread link <<here>> but could you check I've not missed anyone?!?
I think Friendbot intends to use this thread as the OoC still but I wanted everyone's characters to be linked in the same place for other players on the 2072 thread to see Thanks |

Alright everybody I actually am ready to start today so this thread will move to the OOC thread in Seattle 2072 and our IC thread will be in 2072's respective IC thread. Enjoy and good luck whahahahhahahahahahaha!
Edit: Ah sorry Aria, I am intending to merge the threads actually, I just wanted a simple place where I could get everyone together without the other confusion. I will be making the first post tonight (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |
