People wanting to be smuggled out of the country are bing sold as slaves or spare parts if they/their families can't pay. Surprisingly, the authorities know nothing of it.

Of course not. In other news, the Minister of the Interior's Son was able to get a new heart after all and will live a good life now.

hell the rich have a plan to pray on the poor and they do it with other poor so all they have to do is look back at it and say "Who would have thought that anyone could have done such a thing"

Egyptian? This kind of thing happens all over the world. There is even a well-hidden (mostly by us being high-and-mighty about it) slave trade across Canada. I've met someone who was almost taken in by it, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Hell, I know a couple of families that came to Canada as "Slaves". "Indentured Service", legal slavery. They were at least treated well, however. (They were an example of it being done right.).

Illegal Immigrants suffer the same thing in Canada and the US, with Organized Crime having their own "Indentured Service" that you can't get out of, and if you fail or don't follow through, they kill your family back home. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif)

And, yes, the other form of slavery happens in Canada as well. And, no, I'm not talking about the freaky clubs in Vancouver either. It does have to stay well-hidden indeed, however. A Slaver in Canada might be lucky to see a courtroom.

Is there a lot of vigilante justice in Canada? I just can't picture it.

No, there isn't. It takes a lot to get Canadians aggravated, forget angry. Slavery, however, is one of those issues.

It also still happens, however, even for other things. When I first moved to Winnipeg, one of the first newspaper reports I read was how a would-be car thief was beaten very severely by pedestrians who saw him trying to break into a car. Winnipeg has a far-too-high rate of car thefts, as well as violent crime. Which, the beating turned into as vigilante justice isn't supported in Canada either.

(Although, I think any officers that came across a Slaver Lynching would just shrug, pull off the badge, and provide the rope. "Don't let him drop too far, don't want to break the neck.").

I was referring to the organ trafficking. And yes I've heard of this sort of thing in the far east and eastern europe as well.

I'm sure they were just doing a citizens arrest and the perp was resisting.

This happens in Mexico and Central America from time to time. I remember hearing about a guy who got caught trying to snatch a girl in Guatemala and they beat the crap out of him, threw him into a pickup truck to drive him to the police station, and beat the crap out of him during the trip, too.

In Mexico, I heard a story a couple of years ago about a town where the people forced their way into a small garrison where some teens suspected of involvement with cartels were being held....the dragged the guys out, locked them in a truck, and set the truck on fire.

Except the cartels don't seem to be getting the upper hand anymore. At least one major cartel has been made extinct, by my reading.

I'm sure the organlegging stuff happens, too. After all, once the slaves are used up in other areas, or try to break free, you need to have some way to dispose of them if other incentives fail. (and if they kill the family, they might be able to make further use of the bodies then as a display)

1 Cartel down but as bad as things are you know that 2 or 3 just filled in. They have left them go for so long it will take a lot of time and money from both sides of the fence to dig them out.

Well, the Cartel splintered before hand, and one of those splinters is filling the vacuum somewhat. It was the smallest cartel that got decent area coverage on the Mexican map, so it's not a decisive victory, by any stretch.

Oh yea this is something they are going to have to keep working on and the sad part is we will see lots of lives lost. Was not till one of the groups took that boater along the boarder that really made the U.S. stop and start to look at what was going on. They have started cracking down on group here like MS 13 but that is only a start. there are to many people with lots of pull around here who are making lots of money. This country is all about making money.

One of the Cartels kidnapped a member of Anonymous. Waiting to see what happens next.

Which makes me wonder what would happen if someone grabbed a member of the Dead Decker's Society...

Could be? It is in all but name. Heck there are plenty of them invading across the boarder to occupy US soil.

Meh. Give 'em awhile. The Mexicans have their own "noble savage," Aztec supremacy types. If things go anymore downhill, I'm sure someone will decide to resurrect the old religion.
