This weekend was a blur with a sick kiddo, but resulted in a level 29 Breton sneaky guy (archery, 1h, light armor, stealth, pickpocket). Did the Dark Brotherhood line, a chunk of the thieves guild, etc. Loving backstab, can't wait to get my stealth up higher (only about 50ish right now) to start consistently seeing that 30x backstab modifier.
I second Smeltdown, makes the game make more sense. Eventually, I'm going to have to give being a primary magic user a go. Thinking orc, just for giggles. |

It takes maybe a minute to accelerate 7 days. And again, I'd rather spend my IN GAME time emptying dungeons/ruins/etc #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #8, and #9 ... than sit on my hands for an in-game week. Meanwhile, my Argonian Mage has become a Vampire Lord. Join the Dark Brotherhood? Why YES, yes we do indeed plan to to precisely that. MUA HA HA HA. |

Funny enough, the orc berserk racial power applies to magic damage. I do recommend something to beef up spells, however. |

Dawnguard is downloading as we speak. I think I will start a new character. Farewell, Kyria; may the songs of your courage never fade.

Dawnguard is pretty awesome. Crossbows rock. And the old Snow Elf architecture has it's own, unique style to it, that I think fits what little we know of them quite well.
Also, it's got more than just the Dawnguard-vs-Vampires content, there's the AetheriumWars questline (you'll find books by that title laying about all over - read it, and you get the first quest. The final reward choices are all very very nice, without being very very powerful at the same time. More a "cool factor" nice, if you will. Note that if the above sounds excessively cryptic, it's because I am taking pains to avoid unwelcome spoilers. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Well, my new character, Zarya, turns out to be an expy of Kyria: heavy armor-wearing, spellcasting, blade-wielding badass Nord Amazon. The only real difference is that she wields swords and
It seems I have a type. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rotfl.gif) |

Hehehe. My default "type" is the sneaky archer-assassin-sniper type. For my most recent character, I had to really WORK at "not sneaking".

Hearthfire Mod - meeeeeh.
Some Spoilers: Currently buggy implementation of a reasonable manor house that's going to set you back some serious amounts of iron. Pros: Us non-glorious-PC-master-race types get to build a home now. Huzzah You can adopt kid/s. (The dialogue here was ripe for some hilarious choices. "What do I do for a living? Uh...") Pretty views Grow stuff, like ingredients!~ Cons: Seriously - I've seen the mods out there for "build yerself a home" and they're damned amazing. This one is a bare-bones pass. You're going to need ~ 1000 iron bars, ~50 conundrum and about 80 steel bars. Oh and an absolute buttload of cash, mainly for buying finished wood for your home. The stuff you grow, well, they're not going to be Crimson Neemroots. More like...cabbages. Having a young child exclaim "Momma! I love you!" when I'm trying to put the final enchantments on my Daedric Dagger of Soul Eating Apocalypse is a little offputting.* *Although the little tyke did love the dagger when I gifted it to her, and quickly put it to good use, setting fire to while and capturing the souls of some rats that got into the cellar. First impressions: Don't bother with the extra bedrooms or the trophy room. It'd be cool IF you could get all your companions back to your joint for some serious mead mayhem and then have them pike out halfway through "Louie, Louie" into one of the guest beds, only to wake up the next day without eyebrows... And the Trophy room? Seriously, I killed every "trophy" species, apart from the Falmer, less than 60 seconds out from my front door. I love how bandits can randomly spawn on your front step. The Library is...handy, frankly. Somewhere I can finally store the collected works of all Tamriel, it feels. Although it'd be awesome to be able to mount an elder scroll or two on a wall, for bragging rights. (Sure as hell beats, "So, wanna come up and see my etchings?") You'll have the chance to install a smithy and a smelter in the basement, along with the exterior ones that come with the working/design area, so maybe building a large smithy extension (rear option) might be superficial. The various weapon racks and shield/sword racks are numerous and a great way to show off your daedric weaon Ulgh - the design stuff is very buggy and I'd strongly recommend a good save before you part with your shiny stuff. Be warned! -Have fun y'all. Tiralee:P |

Have any of you experienced a dragon not skeletonizing and giving up its soul after death? I just killed one near Bonestrewn Crest, and its intact corpse is just laying there. I've tried saving, quitting, and reloading, but no joy. I suspect it might be related to the fact that it landed near a giant camp and one of the giants beat on it at the same time I was attacking.

As a matter of fact, that EXACT same dragon did that to me yesterday. |

I think if you clear a dragon lair, you only get that particular soul once. So the respawned(?) dragon doesn't give you a soul when killed.

When I jump on a dragon's head and stab it through the brain with a goddamned lightsaber, that motherfucker better damn well burn its own flesh off and give up its soul. |

How far were you from the corpse? I've had dragon corpses not give up a soul immediately, but when I moved in close I got the soul.
