And I don't know that that's necessarily a good thing. I can't tell you how much of SR4 was written under the influence of Red Bull.... Ugh. I won't touch those, or pretty much any other energy drink. Now, basic Mt Dew, on the other hand, fuels my writing. I can't get anything accomplished without some Dew and a good mix of Hard and Prog Rock on Pandora. Most of my writing has a soundtrack that a mix of AC/DC, Rush, Blue Oyster Cult, Metallica, and most importantly Queensryche. I throw the Operation Mindcrime album on once every writing session. Now, yes, we have limited manpower... but here's the thing. Most of us freelancers WANT to work on stuff like Street Legends. We have fun with this. And oh my, did I have fun with a write up I just finished for the first SL eBook. Most fun I've had writing something in a long time. I worked on that project when i needed a break from my others. So in this case, if I wasn't doing this book... I'd have been playing WoW, or Tropico, or New Vegas, or one of a dozen other games I've got stocked up that I haven't touched much. because I needed a change of pace, and needed to relax. <shrug> I will admit, that may just be me. But again, nothing is being sacrificed here. There's a pile of eBooks in the works besides the Street Legends one. There are no SL style books on the print schedule. hell, the only reason the SL eBook is being done at all is, as I said, because we were working on the first and most of the freelance pool kept going "But I want to write up X, Y, and Z! When are we doing SL2?" Bull |

The fan base, OTOH, can be pretty damned close to monkeys with typewriters. Often with the same levels of quality to be expected. But over all I agree with your sentiment-Shadowrun has an active fan base culling from some of them seems like it wouldn't be so hard. But then the reality of a thing is often different from the vision of a thing... |

Hey, Bull didn't get into writing for SR until long after SR4 was written. And I think only his logo is Red, not his skin. Anyhow, who cares what nationality or race he is? |

Hey, Bull didn't get into writing for SR until long after SR4 was written. And I think only his logo is Red, not his skin. Anyhow, who cares what nationality or race he is? Well, technically, I was writing before SR4. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) But yeah, other than a bit of playtesting for the core SR$ book, I took a break from freelance work for a few years. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (And yeah, I know you're being a smartass (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ) Bull |
