So, attended NJ's Dreamation, run by the Double Exposure crew. Played in a pair of Shadowrun games, had a blast. Got to meet KarmaInferno, who's as nice of a guy as he is on the forums. Now, until this point, I've been using PDFs for my gaming group. Not too happy about that. A friend gave me Runner's Companion a month ago, but I'm still slowly purchasing my way into the game. So I picked up a few more books at the con.

The black book really is a great one for me, and a fun read so far. Unwired is a bit older, but I don't know much about the Matrix, and it's pickup will help me understand it better. Perhaps more interesting for some of the vets are the next series of pictures though.

Picked up the 2nd edition GM screen as well. It's a gift for a grumpy player friend of mine who grumbles that 2nd edition was the best. He's amra28 on these forums, btw.

You've found yourself some treasures there! Those Super Tuesday absentee ballot cards are pretty rare. Thanks for posting the pics!

But! But! Did you see any velociraptors!?

<on topic>

You go to R250? The "you wake up in a luxury hotel, with $50,000 in your pocket, and no memory of the last three days" one.

The reason I asked, is that because that game (V!C!) I was partly responsible for and the other game (R250) I was in.

I'm going to go ahead and make the assumption that you weren't the nice woman there who asked if a masking spell that changed her face would prevent her from being "The Face".

Which guy were ya then?

The one who showed up late. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)
I'm a light sleeper, and I was in a room with a snorer. Earplugs didn't help. Also went to bed very late and didn't consult my schedule before trying to get a wink or two.

Huh, dunno how I missed this post.

Was nice to meet some Dumpshockers and put faces to the names! Had a great time, hope to see ya'll again.

Two of the games were especially nifty in that, due to massive overplanning in one and simple "right skills at the right time" on the other, the GM went and skipped entire sections of 'complications' muttering, "no, that doesn't happen, no, they prevented that, no, he's dead already...". Flawless victories!

Of course that just makes Old Man Jones all the more paranoid that something really did go wrong behind the scenes.

On another note, Jack the Rigger now has not only his coveted Otomo drone, but has the Karma for a motorcycle Ally spirit. Mua-ha-ha-ha!

...hmm, if I give it the Flight power, does that make it a flying motorcycle?

KI, During the run at one point, you had clicked on something that made Old man Jones disappear in astral. Was I imagining that? If not, how does that work?

No so much disappear, as not appear as a person. Nobody pays attention to the astral aura of a ladybug.

Combination of Extended Masking, a sustained False Impression spell, and Chameleon coated armor.

There is a certain irony that nobody's actually seen Jones in decades - he wears magical and mundane disguises constantly, especially when on an active op. Yet due to the rules his Public Awareness rating is 10.

I suppose the PA rating is for the IDEA of the old ghost. Even if nobody knows his real identity, the stories around him are an identity in and of itself.
