By fleshing out the used vehicle rules we can essentially make vehicles that a GM can create entire campaigns around. just getting a discount and a somwhat crappier vehicle seemed a bit booring.
A vehicle can get a total discount from the “used” value of up to 50%. This is modified by several attributes: -10%: Speed or Acceleration is reduced by 20% -10%: An attribute is at -1 (Note, replaced armor plating that has been reduced also has its maximum value reduced by the same value. -5%: Gremlin Quality 1 -10%: Gremlin Quality 2 -15%: Gremlin Quality 3 -30%: Gremlin Quality 4 -50%: Gremlin Quality 5 -5%: Last Years Model. In certain social circles the character gets a -2D6 to social interactions for simply 'not fitting in' (Having a beaten up Ford Americar at a high class social meeting is not helping you...nor is having a car painted in the wrong gang colour gonna help you..) -5%: Each level of Bad Rep (Characters vehicle is easily recognizable and has a history, any test to recognize vehicle has a +1D6 per level of quality). -5%: High Maintenance Vehicle “Hand me the Hydrospanner Chewie…” Use the High Maintenance Implant rules. -5%: LOUD – No matter what they do the vehicles engine noise is excessive and can attract attention. -10% Weakened Structural Integrity – Any resistance value using BODY value of vehicle is at a -1 per level of quality to a maximum of -3. -5% Mysterious Vehicle Mod. Use the rules for Mysterious Implant. The modification is part of the vehicle and takes up no mod slots. -5% Night Blindness. No matter how sophisticated your sensors are your vehicle suffers a -2 modifier to all visibility modifiers worse than normal daylight -5% Records on file: Someone has the full information file about the vehicle including any new modifications made. Im gonna go ponder on a list of positive qualities for vehicles that will up the price as well. |

I would like a non-linear version of the Gremlins Quality, like
-5% Gremlins 1 -15% Gremlins 2 -30% Gremlins 3 -50% Gremlins 4 because Glitches get really easy. With Gremlins 4 and a DP of 10, ONE die coming up as 1 is a glitch, and you are likely to glitch every roll. |

Good God, lets not hope the poor rigger has Gremlins 4 + Vehicle Gremlins 4 AND Bad Luck. "We call him Skidmarks..." |

Well, one 1 in a DP of 18 would be a glitch then ... add in a "Buggy 'Ware 4" Control rig and one 1 in a DP of 26 would be a glitch.

"It just needs a little TLC. Transmission, lights, chassis."

(And what's that old saw, that the worst day in a car's life is the day it's driven off the lot, because its value drops by 30%.) |

Nice. We've been doing something similar in our campaign but haven't really laid it out this far. I like the idea of using the cyberware qualities on the cars. So as has been previously said, *yoink*.

You can also add a negative version of 'pimped ride' - it has no effect on the vehicle's functioning, it's just that not being the last model makes it uncool. And cheaper.
That would also be more coherent with the secondhand vehicle market as it is now : you can get a perfectly fine car that's merley two years old with more than 30% discount. |

And cheaper. and have it come with a negative first impression penalty. To anyone you don't know you who sees you drive up in it you have a -2dp social the first time. That would also be more coherent with the secondhand vehicle market as it is now : you can get a perfectly fine car that's merley two years old with more than 30% discount. |
