That, and the game is, as stated by the developer(s), not even in beta. It's still alpha.
There are bugs a plenty, and balance issues galore. Not being able to spend all that money (and risk having it stolen) is likely one of them. Ideally money one gets via char gen would be untouchable from said penalties (but is always spent first for gear). |

The license for a digital shadowrun game was bought off of Microsoft by Cliffhanger Studios, who was going to make a browser game themselves. They ran out of funding and John Weisman bought it off them for a lot less. https://s3.amazonaws.com/www.harebrained-sc...infographic.jpg Ofcourse, we're willing to stop if Mr. Weisman asks us to. I hope it won't come to that though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Cliffhanger got their rights from Smith & Tinker, and are still in production for Shadowrun Online. Again, it's not Mr. Weisman that you have to worry about, it's Microsoft. Talk to the guy about getting a sub-license. Seriously. Worst that can happen is he'll say "no". Or, y'know, spend a lot of time, effort, blood, sweat, and tears on something only to have it yanked away, just like the previous coupla of unlicensed projects. Pretty much everyone warned them of the possible hammer coming down too, but they ignored it. Didn't work out so well for them. I know I sound like a wet blanket, but I wouldn't even bother posting if I didn't care. -k |

Of course you're right, KarmaInferno. We realise we can have the rug pulled out from under us. Perhaps it is time to send that e-mail, indeed.

But really, is there any way I can tell if my Armor spell is still working?
Also, can I only cast non-combat spells in my safehouse? |

But really, is there any way I can tell if my Armor spell is still working? Apologies, I overlooked the question. Yes, you can check your character info and see the buffs and debuffs section. Also, under the information section where it says "Armor" it should say your armour and then your buffed armour in parentheses. QUOTE Also, can I only cast non-combat spells in my safehouse? No, non-combat spells can only be cast from the safe house (for now.) |

Thanks.
I know the shaman is not optimal, but I'll keep trying to make it work. Is there anyway I can lower the target numbers for spells? Or any chance of finding/buying a sustaining focus? |

That's the biggest problem for magic users right now, their target numbers are ultra high and the drain usually necks them. I wish I could give them some more love in terms of sustaining foci and such, but I can't just yet. It's on my list, though. |

OK, so I had 7 stun and 5 physical.
I cast heal and this is what happened: [2012-04-10 11:12:10] Cast Heal (5) Sorcery: 6(9): 1 (2, 5, 2, 14, 8, 5) Drain: 6(5): 4 (2, 5, 5, 5, 5, 3) Drain damage: 2Ms -> none My essence is 6 so the TN should be 4, meaning I got 4 successes. But all of my damage is healed. |

Sounds like he is sayin it healed the 7 stun AND the 5 phys? Ah, in that case, that's certainly a problem. It depends a little bit how long he waited with casting the spell since with a high willpower or body the stun damage takes mere minutes to heal. There are many things that require my attention regarding magic users, I'll have to add this to my list. |

The skills that are not yet implemented are clearly marked. I went with A attributes, B skills, C race (Elf), D resources, E magic. I was basically able to max out all of my useful skills, and I had a really high Quickness. With a smartgun system and an Ares Predator, I cleared 10 ghouls pretty easily. To offer some constructive criticism:
1. Please implement support for moving on the tactical map with the arrow keys; it was really repetitive to keep clicking on those arrows. 2. I didn't see an interface on the tactical screen for reloading; is the idea that I'd just go back to the Safehouse to do that? Did I just miss something on screen? 3. In the event that you guys get a Cease and Desist, I think it would be a shame to throw away all of this work. Even without the SR license material, a cyberpunk-themed Roguelike would be awesome to have. |

I don't think he's one of the developers. I know he isn't. But I really hate people saying "Well, you don't make X, so you're unqualified and incompetent to comment on X." Please make note of the fact that I never dismissed your arguments because you're not a developer. I'm not too fond of your overly abbrassive style, but I'm taking things you say into consideration. I might not agree on everything you say, but you make some valid points and I'll keep listening to them as long as you keep trying to watch your tone a bit. I didn't say it to you at all, DV8. I said it to Stahlseele, because he busted out the "you don't do X, so you're not qualified to talk about the product of X" argument. |

If your Pixie Death Eater heavy-weapon guy/girl cyberzombie shaman also a pornomancer? I'm having a hard time figuring out how it talked Lord Voldemort into letting it join his ranks.
