Howdy folks,

In an effort to become a better GM for my meatspace group, I'd like to kick off a PbP SR4 game of my own. I have probably two-three slots filled, and would like to get more players for the game to round it out to five (will know by tomorrow whether I need two or three more players). First come, first serve obviously. As far as restrictions go...

1) 400 BP
2) Two Attributes at 5 max; all other Attributes at 4 max (modified by metatype; normal costs, i.e. 10 BP for every point)
3) Magic/Resonance 4 max
4) One Skill at 5 max or two at 4 max; all other Skills and Skill Groups at 3 max (same limits also apply to Knowledge Skills)
5) Availability 8 max (up to 12 with the Restricted Gear Quality; only exception: Fake SINs and Licenses can be up to AV 12 as normal)
6) Free points to buy Contacts equal to Charisma x3

Books available: SR4A, Runner's Companion, Augmentation, Street Magic, Wired, Way of the Adept, Arsenal and This Old Drone. If you'd like something from another book, let me know and I'll look into it/think about it.

As for the setting, I'm thinking a group of ex-gangers or wageslaves who have graduated from enforcement/working for the corps to dropping into the shadows to try to parley their skills into a better life. Could even be a combination of the two (say a few gangers and their wageslave old friends/sibs who were making it), I'm open to interesting backgrounds so long as it makes a bit of sense for the group of characters to run together/trust each other somewhat.

If you're interested, reply with a character concept that you wanna muck about with and start working on numbers. People that get me approved character sheets first will be first in line to join the game. I'm open to latent adepts/magicians/technomancers who will start coming into their powers within the first run or two, provided roleplay is good. As for posting requirements, ideally we're looking at 1-3 posts per week. I realize that real life does happen, so I'm willing to be lenient/take over a pc for a short time period should things come up. Obviously, if there is more activity, I'm willing to try to post more myself to keep things moving along.

Edit: The title says 300BP, I really meant 400BP. So, build accordingly.
Edit 2: I accept Chummer files and plain text.
Edit 3: I've lifted what appears to be Bull's 50+ questions for fleshing out your character. Feel free to answer as many or as few as you'd like, extra karma will drift your way for answered questions obviously (thinking up to 10 karma, not necessarily based on how many answers but the quality of answers. So...completely subjective criteria :P ). I'm also willing to throw out 5 karma for images of your character if you're the artistic type (something slightly more advanced than a stick figure will do).

Sweet! I've been kicking around a concept for a few weeks in my head, I'd be happy to have the chance to play him.

Technomancer gear-head, he's a mechanic who works at a chop-shop and who recently "awakened" as a technomancer due to a strange occurence during some cyberwear implantation. The concept had the rest of the chop-shop employees as his "gang", but this idea could be moved around to cover him being part of a gang or whatnot.

One thing, your post title says 300bp, your post itself says 400bp. Which is it? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Derp, 400BP, I'll edit the title accordingly. And I like the concept, and it forces me to get good at technos and riggering, sweet!

Edit: And I can't figure out how to edit the title, so poo. Oh well, edit is in the post as well.

Great! I have to admit, playing a techno will be brand new to me, so hopefully you'll forgive any lapses or derps on my part in that area too.

I'll work up a more detailed background and char sheet and get that too you as soon as possible.

Here's a ganger I built with 300 BP for our home game. He could be built up with another 100 BP quite easily. The setting is in LA, and of course it and gang names could change. Sorry about the spacing, etc. It didn't port in from Word very well.

Thinking Seattle, pre-Ghost Cartels, so Lone Star is still the top dog in town at the moment, so circa 2072? Like the character Pban, be neat to see what you do with it with an extra 100BP.

I'm up for playing if you have some space

Thinking an Ork ganger who's worked his way up to Soldari level within the Cosa Nostra (Italian Mob). In essence he's a generalist role wise, married both to the job but working on a family of his own.

I have two of my meat players that want in on this for sure, I'm speaking with a third today. However, for you Nikoli, I'm willing to potentially expand to six players. Reciprocation and what not. Go ahead and make a sheet up, you've got a spot.

So, near as I can tell, we'll have a Mafia guy, a random gang guy, a Japanese (possibly Yakuza or some small gang) chick, and another random gang guy (nikoli, pban, meat puppet #1, phlap). This is gonna be interesting to put all of you together, heh. Also, after my three meat puppets to get their character sheets done, hoping for a weekend launch. Also, see the first post yet again, added a set of questions that're worth karma, and will help me flesh out the world a bit better for you. Starting date IC will be Sept. 21, 2072. For, y'know, birthday considerations and what not.

My concept can be modified to be part of other gangs, or part of the Mafia, or whatever, to facilitate character integration...

Two questions

(a) do you still have space for one more? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

(b) is there any archetypal role not yet filled?

a) If my meat friends come through, no (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif) . However, I haven't heard from one since Tuesday and the other since Wednesday, I'll be bugging them today and finding out what the carp their deal is.

b) Looks like we have a technomancer, muscle/rigger, muscle, and muscle primary/face secondary. I know one of the two meat guys is planning on playing a magician, the other hasn't gotten back to me with a concept yet. So, at this point, I'd say a dedicated face type, maybe a caster, or maybe a stealthy kinda guy. Possibly roll two of those roles into one?

Cool, I'll see what I can work up. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

EDIT: I've got an elven Face-Adept that was asy enough to tweak into shape (just drop the Influence group from 4 to 3, then spend the resultant points ... and police the gear to make sure it all gits with the lower Availability cap).

I don't suppose you have Hero Lab? I could just shuffle the file over to you, if so ...

I'm fluent in HeroLab, Chummer, and text, so that's fine. AAAAND, good news. Well, for you. My muscle/face player has decided that they're willing to give up their spot since they're not sure if they'll be capable of posting on a weekly basis, so I just happen to have an opening for a face character.

Magician and other guy are go, believe other guy is going to be a stealthy b&e specialist.

If you wanna email me the file, shoot it to rholcomb3@gmail.com

PMs sent to phlapjack and Nikoli. Pban, you have your +100 BP on Quick Willie done yet? One of my meat players has sent me his sheet, which I've sent back for a few revisions, and I'll be helping the other one with his on Saturday, so we're probably looking at a Sunday launch on this.
