A while back, I saw a link here to some stats that represented a necromancer fairly well, but I've lost the link and I can't seem to find the post it was in. Does anyone know where to find info on necromancers?

Nope. But then again I feel that Necro's have about as much right being in Shadowrun as Lich's considering how Shadowrun handles "undead".

Any magician with Divination (Necromancy) is a necromancer. But if you're referring to the cheesy D&D style necromancer, there's several threads around. Here's one of several that popped up in the Search function.

depends on how you want to look at it. you could make an ancestor shaman whose spells and spirits take the form of 'undead' type stuff. you could make a voodoo guy who specializes in making zombies. you could play a mage with a customized Control Thoughts spell with a limited target: HMHVV-infected, or an Animate spell with a limited target: dead bodies.

Animate and corpses are a fun combination.

Here are also a couple older threads on Necromancy

Necromancer Medical Specialist (January 2003)

Necromancy Query (August 2002)

Shev, the reason you might not have found what you were looking for may be because the search page defaults to only looking back 30 days.

Well, I have to admit. Ancient History's take on a Necro was alot better than I expected. I don't have a problem with that take on the Necromantic tradition....I just might not call it Necromancy, cause that word puts D&D into my head.

Thanks everyone :) . I was actually hoping to see a specific page I had seen before show up, but I didn't see it pop up when I searched again (thanks for the tip, OutTeam!), so I must have gotten it from another place. I guess I'll keep looking. Thanks for the fast response guys!

yes, it's best to be careful when saying D&D-related words. i heard that if you stand in front of a mirror and say "saving throw" fifty times with the lights out, a Player's Handbook will appear and drag your soul to hell.

You can get the same effect with just three repeats of "To Hit Armor Class Zero".

I wonder, could a custom-made metamagic technique allowing the summoning of shedim spirits accomplish this? I think it would probably work better as an NPC-only thing, an idea for magical threats.

No, hell are the nine layers of Baator. The Abyss always had that name.

yeah, but that's the nine hells. hells was koser, hell<bolded blank space> was not.

incidentally, i'm pondering the fun that might be had with a corpse-animatin' mage who encounters a bunch of shedim.

In my defense, that was a long-used NPC who called herself The Necromancer.
