I'm working on getting an SR3 game up and running, and I was wondering if anyone could recommend any software tools to make a GM's life a little easier. Specifically, I'm looking for any spreadsheets that can be used for keeping track of combat or other interactions, or any programs (like HeroLab) that are designed to work with SR3 rules. I could also use any good digital character sheets or character generators, and generally just anything that others have found useful in their experience.

Thanks in advance!

For character generation, NSRCG.

I don't have a good link, but I know someone around here does.

There's not a whole lot that needs automating in SR3 beyond character generation. I'd love to find a random NPC generator (click a button and an NPC pops out), but something tells me that's a bit much to hope for. However, I've got a couple of good decking-based programs.

CyberCat's Cyberdecks Online Catalog A program for creating custom cyberdecks using the rules in the Matrix sourcebook. Only calculates price and whether the choices are "legal" (as in no System Response 2 on a deck with MCPC 5), not skill tests or "cook time" for chips.

Plastic Warriors - Matrix 2.0 Host Generator Browser-based random generator for Matrix hosts with security sheaf based on Security Code and Intrusion Difficulty with options for paydata and "Nasty Surprises".

TUA Security Sheaf Generator Another browser-based random host generator. Fewer options, but the website is prettier.

There is also one tool for the gun creation rules from the SR3 Arsenal.
And another for making random runs.
And the Decker MiniGame is available for PC too.
But the first 2 are in german, if i remember correctly, and the 3rd one i can't find.
