Meh. Either that's a later retcon, or whoever added that to the wiki didn't know what they were talking about, because my copy of TRO 3025 says "Swayback" means any Hunchback variant that swaps the AC/20 for something else.

I'll check when I get home. I have an original printing of 3025.

Until then, I'll keep teasing you as if it were true (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Actually highest possible without melting yourself I think went to a clan missile boat... kraken III i want to say.

Pretty sure the IS-standard SRM carrier could match or beat that.

According to sarna.net, there is a Stalker variant with a ballistic weapon: the STK-8S sports a heavy gauss rifle.

Oh, I agree with you. I'm just saying, there is a precedent.

TBH, there are numerous 'Mechs I'd like to see implemented ahead of the Stalker: Locust, Wasp, Stinger, Panther, Hatchetman, Phoenix Hawk, Enforcer, Trebuchet, Griffin, Shadow Hawk, Wolverine, Rifleman, Crusader, JagerMech, Thunderbolt, Archer, Warhammer, Marauder, Orion, Victor, Zeus, BattleMaster, and Cyclops. And those are just from TRO 3025!

You DO remember what it means for a Mech to be considered one of the Unseen, don't you? O.o

Dude, they already redesigned the Centurion and Dragon such that they look nothing whatsoever like the Unseen art. They can do the same for the others.

Also, thanks for reminding me of the whole Harmony Gold clusterfuck, which I had previously suppressed. What part of "licensing = more money" escapes those brainless ultracunts' comprehension?

Ahem . . http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Unseen
Look there, no mention of the Centurion OR the Dragon . .
They could have left these two exactly the way they have been depicted all of the time . .
Aside from the models not being able to really work because the drawings were . . flawed . .

That's basically what started the unseen. Exo-squad made a Mad Cat toy. FASA sued. Exo's parent company took a look at Battletech using tons of said parent company's IP and sued the hell out of them.

Same here, not to mention that Harmony Gold has been bastards about licensing anything related to Macross/Robotech since forever.

Also, I miss Exo-squad.

Even more amusing, at around the same time they had Robotech toys for sale but only the destroids and some of the Zentradi stuff. I used to have an Archer/Gladiator, Rifleman/Raider X, Warhammer/Excalibur, Longbow/Spartan, and a Glaug/Officer's Battlepod/Marauder. Let me tell you, the Exosquad figs fit perfectly into the Glaug cockpit.

I wish I still had those. Would be awesome for when I play battletech.

Hardpoints are still stupid. If you're going to allow on-demand reconfiguration of non-OmniMechs, don't be a half-assed pansy about it. If you want the classic 'Mechs to keep their roles, don't be a half-assed pansy about it. Instead, they chose to be half-assed pansies on both counts.

I really, really wish they'd kept to 3025.

I really whish they had brought back the hardpoints from MW4/Mercs with some fine tuning. Yes, we all hated them with a passion but it worked and gave each mech a role.

The MekTek Version was pretty good in that it added two more kinds of slots(Direct Fire[Energy and Ballistic] and Heat Based[Missle and Energy])

That is part of what I meant with "fine tuning". I'd also introduce a finer granularity of sizes, say between one and ten slots for most weapons (not saying "like the boardgame", because transferring stats 1:1 creates its own bunch of problems).
