That is part of what I meant with "fine tuning". I'd also introduce a finer granularity of sizes, say between one and ten slots for most weapons (not saying "like the boardgame", because transferring stats 1:1 creates its own bunch of problems).

Sooo .... kind of like the idea I posted way upthread, then? ;D

Boom Boom traded in its AC/20 and medium lasers for twin Ultra AC/5s and four tons of ammo. Reaction is... mixed.

That's an overall firepower reduction, unless you're really good at un-jamming the Ultras. Quite a LARGE reduction, in fact.

Yeah, I was hoping the increased rate of fire would make up the difference. Not so much. I'm thinking of going to an LB-10X and a large pulse laser.

Not having the weight/crit stats in front of me, or knowing if you'd have the hardpoints, but what about a trio of regular AC/5's ...? Chain-fire those and you should put some steady rock-and-sway into your target ... for as long as your ammo held out.

Later development.

Originally - and currently in MWO - the IS only has LBX-10's.

The clans arrive, and they have LBX-5's, LBX-15s, and LBX-20's too.

Eventually he IS reverse-engineers them, and they too have LBX cannons in all sizes.

no, i meant that there are no LB-X15 in BT . . anywhere . .
there is no single AC with 15 in it O.o
it goes 2, 5, 10, 20. Always.

*shrug* Whichever. I do find it odd, though. Kind of a hole in the lineup.

What Stahlseele said. LBX autocannons are still autocannons: LB-2X, LB-5X, LB-10X, and LB-20X. There is no hole in the lineup.

Eh. I know what happened - my brain crossed wires with LRM progression.

I do think the absence of an AC15, and corresponding LBX, UAC, and RAC models, is a bit of a hole. No intermediary step between 10 and 15 ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

Um, the only rotary autocannons are the RAC/2 and RAC/5. Rotary autocannon/15, firing six rounds a turn? Jesus H. Christ fucking Tom Cruise in the ass while Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes cheer Him on, you don't ask for much, do you?

There's no hole. Autocannon bores double in size. The 2 does 2.5, but was rounded down for damage sake.

Meh. Either that's a later retcon, or whoever added that to the wiki didn't know what they were talking about, because my copy of TRO 3025 says "Swayback" means any Hunchback variant that swaps the AC/20 for something else.

Heh... I prefer to think of my Hunchie as a Hollander Mk 2.

Gauss Rifle, ER Large, 2 Medium Lasers, 210 XL engine.

Clanners (Diamond Shark I think) come up with a RAC/10 if I'm not mistaken.

Keep in mind it's been 10-15 years since I played - long before RACs existed. It's lucky I even know they DO exist, at all.
