My face has a fresh new SIN (rating 6), a nice new lifestyle in a high class neighborhood, all that.
I'm trying to come up with some things for her to do in her community other than merely being a party girl and joining the neighborhood watch (as mentioned in previous threads).

Here are some of my ideas:
1) Join the local theatrical society. After all for a Face acting is basically practice, and being part of a couple of community groups will help add credibility to my 'Living' SIN.
2) Join the local 'Gun Owners' or 'Shooting' club, not sure what the correct term is. It's a good explanation for why my character is so good with guns and owns so many (Explanation for my neighbors ect. The actual reason has something to do with her mother being a former Tir Ghost who trained her up...).
3) Hook up with the local gaming group. Probably either a generic fantasy system (Playing a halfling monk who's solution to everything is to punch it in the groin until it stops being a problem), or... yup, a shadowrun character playing shadowrun. just for kicks and giggles, you understand.

So, any other suggestions?

if you are in a normal run of the mill neighborhood, there is PTA for the local school (just make up some random student that you are the "parent" of or something)

Maybe hook up in the local politics, helps a local congressman behind the scenes.

Throw an occasional Block Party, soccer mom's would love to have a reason to relax in a friendly atmosphere

There is this mysterious activity often perpetuated by the higher class or middle class trying to pretend they're sophisticated...
It involves walking or driving in a curiously underwhelming vehicle for hours on end. All the while following a misshapen small ball... Now here's the really strange part, once they find the ball they hit it with a stupidly expensive iron or wooden rod. Following a set of convoluted rules they supposedly guide the ball past various pieces of artificially introduced terrain, including sand pits in a grass field!
The round ends when they place the ball in a hole in the ground by the least practical way possible, hitting it with a iron rod!
They award eachother birds as points which may wary depending on how terrible the player is, odd how they reward sucking at the activity...
The game ends after eight or so hours with drinks at the local incredibly pricey establishment.
Why anyone would volunteer to burn money like that is beyond me, but it might just be the perfect cover

Be active in your local church. After services many groups have coffee and snacks and are looking for people to organize that.
Fund raisers and things like that.

Volunteer in a local YMCA type of facility or boys-and-girls club, neighborhoods where families live sure can use a youth group volunteer.

In my opinion, it would be extremely important to be careful how much exposure you're getting. A nice, fake, SIN does not preclude facial recognition, face in the newsfeed, etc. The more you're known, the more you stand out. And rating 6 SINs can be beaten; just give it enough dice rolls.

出る杭は打たれる。the stake that sticks out gets hammered

QUOTE (Michael Westen)
Spies make great neighbors; they're polite, they keep the lawn trim, and they never crank up the music at night. They don't stand out, because they don't want to be found. So if you're hunting for a covert operative and all you've got to go on are the names of a few dozen suspects, you're out of luck... unless you know where to look.

Leading anything is an excellent way to stick out too much. I'd go with membership in some larger, vanilla, boring things. Neighborhood Watch, Home Owners Associations, Re-elect so-and-so. Most of these are very large organizations with token members who are not present for most things. So your name comes up without having to bond with everyone.

However, regular volunteers are usually a fairly tight-nit group in a location, which can be a good way to get your cover blown.

I'd also recommend a really good disguise check, but it's not a cure. Someone always gets lucky.

In my opinion, if you want a hobby for FUN that involves on a more personal level, it should never be connected to the SIN you use to keep your home.

I may just do that. It'll require a lot of disguise checks what with being an elf and everything, but totally worth it! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)
