You can just tell me what you are planning to do. I don't actually think this is going to last long enough to fall into initiative. You running after Jack? Hanging around here to fight off the Spirit in the hopes of finding time before the building collapses to search for the stone? Giving up on the bonus missions and just going after your original mission to save Fiona?

The original mission is the most important one to TW. The spirit will eventually go back to it's own plane, and we can look for the stone in the wreckage later, if it's even here. I wonder why Jacky-boy would even keep Fiona alive if she had the stone on her, he'd just kill her and take it rather than spend the (perhaps minimal) effort to capture her alive. I would say we get her, get out of the blasted building, and try and beat Jack to the pier if possible. I don't fancy having to walk out of here.

Sounds like a good plan. Currently are you running to grab Fiona's unconscious form (the explosion shook the building enough that she's crumpled on the floor if Gardner hadn't already laid her down) then? And how do you plan to get her out? Jump out the window with her in your arms? Tie her to your back somehow and climb out?

Metagaming knowledge about Jack's motives:

That's only my idea, I'm going to wait for Dak and Kiir (apologies for the abbreviation, but I messed up spelling your username 4 times in increasingly odd ways) to have their chance to pipe in before we say "let's do this", yeah? Besides, Gardner's the one with climbing skills. Defaulting with someone else under my arm while rappelling out a window of a sagging building with potential hostiles below sounds...foolish.

Actually Kiir is the shortening of my username, I use it too (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Did I have any chance to grab Jack as he fled? Or maybe hit him with a stunbolt?

I would have gotten Fiona out of the chair, so hopefully she didn't get hurt by the explosion.

My first priority with most of the building looking like it is going to collapse is going to be getting Fiona out. If the spirit starts to act out against us, I will have to hit it with a few spells to disrupt it.

And if I can keep line of sight on him, I can hit Jack with a stunbolt or two as well.

When i posted about the sound of the grenade against the door, you said you would likely move to have some cover like having the table between you and the door. So you were actually just out of reach when Jack made his break past TundraWolf on the opposite side of the couch from you.

From the look in the Spirit's 'eyes', it's safe to assume he's about to attack TundraWolf, you can either cast something against it now or you can wait until after it attacks him. Up to you. Also, if you guys are going to plan something, you need to do it in character and verbally. You can't read each others minds. Every time to pause to talk the building is one step closer to falling down, Jack is multiple steps further from you, and the Spirit is taking actions in the meantime.

Right now, I am letting both Gardner and TundraWolf have a chance at doing something before the Spirit attacks. If we have to move into actual initiative then the Spirit has a good chance to act first instead. So post up what you're first reaction would be in this scenario. If that's to pause and discuss a plan of action, so be it. If it's actually going to be doing something, then do it.

[edit]: Oh and Jack has made it through the window and thus is on the other side of the ward. Keep that in mind if you are trying to cast spells at him.

Does that have any impact on the spirit inside hanging around and following his instructions?

Well, then TW will yell at Gardner to grab the woman, pick up his mostly-empty magazine, and withdraw back to the window in the other room keeping his rifle trained on the spirit. He'll wait until the giant and Fiona are out the window before going himself. This is probably going to hurt.

I guess we'll have to see if/when it has to try to go through the ward. as of yet nobody has seen it go anywhere near the ward, thoug Gardner has seen the two watcher spirits pass back and forth without any adverse effects.

Which window? There used to be a window in the alley he's currently in though the explosion and flying door made that more of a gaping hole rather than a window? The window the guys went in is all the way around on the other side of the building which will take you a couple turns to get to since you were still on the alley.

You can safely assume the spirit will be attacking you unless Gardner doors something first. I'll wait for a post from him before saying more.
By the way, are you running or keeping your cool with a controlled pace. Running you could get to the window before the spirit attacks. Walking you would only get part of the way there.

OK. I assume you're running. You can make it most of the way out of the alley by the end of this combat turn. Depending on how well Jack landed, you may be seeing him run past the alley entrance shortly before you get there.

He was already wounded, and then jumped out a 2nd floor (warehouse) window? What was that, 15 feet up? 20?

Alright. He's got titanium bones. I'll see if I can catch him in the alley.

I'm going to hit the Fire Spirit with a Stunbolt before it has a chance to attack anyone. Force 10 (I'm trying to get this guy in one go...)

Spellcasting: 3 hits
Drain (DV 4); 4 hits

Then I'm going to move carefully toward Fiona to try and gather her so we can leave.

If you remember earlier, I mentioned that the window was 3meters up. Any fall 3-6 meters is only 4 damage resisted by Body + half impact + Gymnastics if you have it. And he managed to resist 3 boxes of the damage though, i'm saying he landed slapping his injured hand on the ground in the process making it physical damage. He's still more than capable of continuing to run regardless.

Stunbolt was resisted.l The Spirit moves to attack TundraWolf. 6 hits on its melee attack.

Roll to dodge and then damage resistance test.

Then both TundraWolf and Gardner can post another set of actions.

I managed 5 hits on the drain test so I'm good. It appears astrally nearby and awaits command... I'll have to spend a simple action next pass to command it to defend us. Luckily since materialized spirits are dual natured it won't have to spend a turn materializing to attack the enemy spirit.

OK. After TundraWolf defends against that last attack by the Spirit we'll just say you're spirit keeps it occupied long enough for you to get Fiona out of there.

Will you guys be climbing back to the roof or just climbing down the rope?
