The Risk Agent by Ridley Pearson. Outside operatives with the right talents hired to do a job the corporation can't. Lots of back-stabbing and hidden agendas, as well as a wonderful example of how relationships with contacts fluctuate.

A good page-turner, and apparently the first in a series with the two protagonists.
