So I'm running a game where I've got my players on the otherside of the shadows. They're playing Ex-military turned CorpSec.
I've created an up-and-coming AA corporation for them to be working on, and to come up with some ideas I found myself reading through Big-D's will. In it, he mentions the "Matrix Monocle" and his contract for the support of "Etheric Computing Services." I know the monocle is sort of a mythic item that no one knows what is does, but I am interested in some brainstorming. So please, toss some ideas out there! What do you think the Matrix Monocle would do, and what is Etheric Computing? Sky is the limit! |

Ether, in the Sixth World, would most definitely be referring to some merged concept of the mythological and quasi-scientific elements defined here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luminiferous_aether and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aether_theories It's got to be the notion that computing could be accomplished with a spiritual memory storage medium of some sort. What if data could be stored in an infinitely expansive metaplane at little to no cost? What if data security on such a plane was infinitely superior to physical security? |

Sounds a lot like the Resonance Realms to me... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Sounds a lot like the Resonance Realms to me... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Funny, I was thinking the same thing. Guess the real trick would be letting everyone access it with ease, rather than having a TM take hours at least just to get there. |
