High above the compound, a lens swivels and focuses on the SUV below. On ground level, a small round drone rolls over and points at the SUV. Crispy trains the MMG on the SUV and surrounding area while meanwhile his commlink frantically tries to coordinate all of the incoming gigapulses of data. He can feel it growing slightly warm against the small of his back, a sure sign that it's being put through it's paces. Crispy's AR feed is awash in bright, flashing lights indicating statuses and data and notifications. His DNI allows him to mentally select one particular flashing dot, to track any communications coming from the SUV.

Cold sweat breaks out on Crispy's forehead at Hammerson's comment. He checks the tacnet vid feed and, sure enough, it's Ladies Of Los Angeles.

How his personal collection had become part of the tacnet vid feed, he wasn't sure. He had his suspicions, but he'd have to wait until later to confirm them.

The mage is still sustaining the spell, which lets her shift her view to the area in front of the outer gate. Moving outside of the car now, she keeps watch, searching for threats.

After Crispy has recovered from the shock of his personal vid collection somehow being transmitted over the tacnet, he remembers his training.

Morales, the boss on the outer gate, radios in "Contractor team heading inside, hombre."

The gate on the external checkpoint begins to clatter open. It takes if a few seconds to move out of the way. Meanwhile, the inner gate begins to open at almost exactly the same moment. The truck and its cargo wait on the gate, while the driver shifts into first gear.

As the outer gate moves, leaving just enough room, the SUV pulls through the narrow opening and drives through the lot, coming up behind the truck just as the inner gate has opened wide enough for the large vehicle to begin pulling forward.

When there are no threats visible in front of the outer gate, where Tatjana currently has her vision focused via her spell, she turns her attention to the inner gate and to the two vehicles approaching it now.

Keeping the gate house between him and the gate opposite the compound, purposely unable to see what happens there, entrusting his squadmates to cover it.

He turns into the path of the approaching vehicle and gives a casual HALT hand signal, slowly stepping backwards with the truck, waiting for the gate to close.

Crispy waits until the semi has cleared the inner gate and then pushes the button to activate the door closing.

The trailer has pulled slowly through the gate, and the SUV has inched along behind it, but comes to a halt in front of Hammer. The front driver's side window rolls down, and an elf female sticks her head out. "Oi, mate, we're on your side."

Crispy hits the button inside an the gate begins to rattle closed after the truck has passed through.

The elf throws up her hands in exasperation. "Oh come on! Geez!"

"Buenos Noches Amigos, Hey cool your heels Ese, you boys from 116 FOXTROT that we expecting? you're late, unless you bringing us some tacos instead of the drekkin' rice n' Beans eh?"

Hammer knows his ruse is weak-sauce but it's worth a shot at this point, and it seems that the situation is not as heated as he first expected so tries to be jovial with the returning team, one day the roles might well be reversed.

Crispy continues to scan for any transmissions coming from the SUV, attempting to find broadcast IDs or hidden nodes. The machine gun's snout is aimed in the general direction of the vehicle, not directly enough to be threatening but close enough that a moment's notice can bring the barrel to bear on the target.

The elf leans her head out the window again and leers at Hammer. "New guys, I bet. Am I right? Am I right?" she turns to the occupants of the vehicle. "It's new guys. I forgot they were coming in. How about that, guard duty on the first day?" She looks back at Hammer. "Oi, chummer. Which barracks did they give you? 17?" laughter can be heard from inside the SUV. The front passenger window comes down and the ork, cradling an assault rifle, peers out.

The elf leans her head out the window again and leers at Hammer. "New guys, I bet. Am I right? Am I right?" she turns to the occupants of the vehicle. "It's new guys. I forgot they were coming in. How about that, guard duty on the first day?"

"Guard Duty ?? Maaaan, I thought I just gots to stand out here and get to talk with pretty Chica's like you princesa ! ..."

Hammer saunters up to the side of the vehicle, and blows a mock kiss at the angry elven driver

"If I'd a known it was guard duty I'd have worn my pretty uniform and grabbed a breath mint, no ... "

talking of breath mints, who's your pretty friend here ?" he points with a wink at the Ork as he winds the window down

He pats his rifle and shakes his hips in a faux Salsa sway.

Crispy again pushes the button that controls the inner door. He considers using the door to mess with Bravo squad after hearing the laughter coming from the SUV, but decides against it. Later would be better, when it wouldn't be so obvious. Later, after he'd had time to make sure noone had infiltrated his commlink.

He sends out a quick SITREP after opening the door.

The inner gate rumbles shut, and then Crispy hits the switch again and it opens. The seconds seem to drag by as the chains haul it open.

The ork in the passenger seat asks the closest of the team, "You heard about the snakes in the camp plumbing?" he grins wickedly, and the elf in the driver seat grimaces, "I fuckin' hate snakes."

The gate eventually stands open, and once there is no one standing in the way, the driver hits the gas and the SUV drives into the camp.

The guards on the outer gate have seemingly returned to their card game, and barely look up as a long burst of automatic weapons fire echoes from the south. A few tracer rounds streak through the night sky, but not closeby.

He gets up and grabs his gear heading for the door out of the small guard room,
"Brian, Amigo you're up ... " he throws his thumb back over his shoulder, indicating the rest room..

"unless you mind doing me a pequeño favor? ... " He stops in his tracks with a wry smile on his lips looking over to the other guard house "Hows about you go see what odds Morales is offering on his game huh ? and see if you can find out what's new in local news ? .. up to you though, if you want to get some rest, I'll ask Khote or Tatjana.. although we'll likely never see them again if She goes eh !?" and he chuckles at the thought of any number of large Columbian men being thrown out of windows and doors..

Time drags on for Crispy. He fidgets this way and that, uncomfortable with lying still for so long. That bedroll that Nova brought up looks awfully comfortable. Maybe she wouldn't mind sharing...naw, not time for that kind of thing right now. Not yet. Plus he'd just get sleepy afterwards, and the last thing he needed was to be more tired than he already was. Damn he should've taken a nap earlier when he had the chance. He steals another glance at the bedroll. What was this tower made of, ferrocrete? Come to think of it, it probably was. Cold as shit too. His eyelids droop for a second before he snaps alert.

"Say Nova, what about we take shifts watching? Nothing's supposed to happen until oh-one-hundred anyway. How about I sleep for an hour or so, then you wake me and you get an hour. That way we're both fresh when the tanker arrives" Crispy can't help but steal a glance at the warm, comfortable-seeming blanket spread under Nova.

The tanker appears to be running behind schedule when it comes down the access road and pulls up in front of the outer gate. The external folks check it over before sending it in.

Our team similarly checks it over and finds everything to be in order, eventually allowing it into the camp.

The past couple of hours have been mostly quiet. Normal traffic noises, some distant gunfire, but after a few hours of it, even the distant gunfire becomes barely noticeable.

Shift change happens at 07. Just a few more hours.

"Take some rest, if you need it, Crispy. Better to have a rested trigger finger on that gun of yours. I will keep my eyes open. I got some rest earlier and I'm used to staying up for extended periods, so it is no problem for me. If anything happens, I will give you a kick to wake you up!"

She grins at the soldier. But that surely was just meant as a metaphor.
