Hey everyone!

For years I've been ruling and playing assuming that recoil modifiers accumulate between initiative passes. So If in my first initiative pass I shot two bursts, my recoil penalty in my second pass starts at -5 recoil penalties, and you add from there.

However... re-reading the manual for a future game, I've just realized that nothing in the rules seems to indicate this. It just says first burst -2, second burst -3 (and in the combat example it's obvious they accumulate) but it says nothing between passes.

Have I been doing it wrong? Can you point me to the part in the rules where they clear this out, either way?

Thanks!

Page 153 and 154 of the SR4A book.

Recoil is only cumulative in the same Action Phase. Each time your turn comes (each Pass you act on) is a new Action Phase, so recoil resets every pass.

Right-o... so I've been doing things wrong for years.

Not only that... but initiative passes are even more powerful than I originally knew... wow.

Thanks!!
