Sorry again for the delay...

If I can, I am using my free action to reach out over my bond with my spirits to say: This enemy spirit might stop us from getting down safely... (The idea being that both spirits will be interested in coming to my aid here...)

For my action, I will try to disrupt the spirit with a stunbolt F5 (I can't afford to take unexpected ohysical drain...)

Spellcasting: 5 hits; I will keep up to 3 net hits.

Drain Resist: 2 hits

Cut an arm off, and leave a note saying to send any and all medical bills to Scion. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

Edit: Mach_Ten, If we've already decided RAW to parry with a sword is using the flat of your blade, why are you using an elbow to block? You won't hurt him, and will have like 400 more dice.

Well RAW doesn't specify. and I've posted seeking some clarification

But just in case of GM difference of opinion... I played it safe.

No worries though it worked out. He does it again though and I'll upset him lol

I like the flavor of you specifically not using the sword to block the drunkard. But really you can still use you're Blades dice pool to defend against him and just describe it as unarmed if you like. I'm cool with that.

The Air Elemental chooses to use Edge on its defense roll and gets 5 hits.. So no damage.

What will your earth spirit be doing on it's turn?

Also, up on the roof, does the sniper have to resist the same 10 damage from being engulfed? And is your spirit doing anything else?

The Earth spirit, on its turn, will move forward and attack clumsily.

Attack: 1 hit

Base Damage: 4S

The plant spirit, at the top of the Second Pass, will cause the Sniper to need to resist the damage again. This doesn't take up an action, though, it is just a Sustained Critter Power. The spirit, will drop its Materialization (Complex Action) (Free Action), move up to 100 meters in the Astral (walking rate, so non-action), and attack the Air Spirit with Astral Combat (Complex Action)

Astral Combat: 5 Hits.

Base Damage: 4S

Assuming the Sniper falls unconscious, the Spirit will go ahead and drop the Engulf... It doesn't have anything else to do with that free action...

For a second I thought since Materialization was a Sustained Power that it could be dropped as a Free Action. But the Conjuring Section of the Magic chapter says that changing between forms is a Complex Action. So it just moves back down to our group, up next to the Air Spirit in the Astral...

The sniper manages to get enough hits that he does not go unconscious yet. One more box and he's down. So it will still be sustaining the Engulf for now I assume.

Oh and the earth elemental pretty much ignores the earth elemental's attack. 6 hits means it dodged (especially when i rolled too few dice for it.)

-----------------

Now it's time for the air elemental to go. I guess I'll be nice and have him attack the plant spirit in astral space first rather than the injured Gardner. It got 7 hits with base damage of 5P.

Yep, he seems to be following your directions and you guys are heading that way. You make it 9m this pass, and will continue to run throughout the combat turn. You'll be a couple meters shy of the of broken doorway at the end of the combat turn (I assume you're heading for that one since the others are all locked).

Your reach cancels out his bonus for having a friend in melee. So he just rolls his base dice. Which unfortunately means he slaps the blade aside yet again with his 3 hits.

Is that thing a Force 9?! Holy crap...

The Plant Spirit edges his defense too and gets a whopping 11 hits. So no damage. <Why can't I roll this well for myself!?!>

-----

On Gardner's eventual turn, he will try to hit the Air spirit with another F5 Stunbolt.

Spellcasting: 4 hits.

Drain: 3 Hits.

The Earth Spirit will also attack again. It gets 3 hits this time, same 4S base damage.

Why yes, it is a massively powerful spirit. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Good job on defending. I'll post his resistance once we get to your turn in Initiative.

I'm thinking about throwing up another IC post soon, out of curiosity is this thing a Hermetic style Elemental? I'm guessing whatever corp wagemage they have doing the magical protection is probably a hermetic mage.

For everyone else's information, the Earth Spirit I summoned up is taking the form of an up-rooted, stumpy bush with the roots still clinging to large amounts of dirt. Parts of it separate as if it had arms and legs rather than simply branches and roots, but when it stands still it almost looks like a regular plant. As it moves, it looks like the dirt should be shaken loose and be leaving a trail, but as it falls it sort of disappears reforms in front of it, and the cycle continues.

All of my spirits have a nature theme, but with sort of cross between the hermetic elementals that always have a humanoid shape, and the shamanic examples that take the forms of creatures or objects from nature.

It doesn't describe the style of the summoner, but I think it's safe to assume a Hermetic style Elemental.

Eclipse is going to throw down some covering fire for Mr White... while heading to the edge of the balcony. It's past time to GTFO.
So: While dragging TW with him in one hand... (Sacrifice 2nd shot if dragging is an action)

Short, narrow burst at unengaged guard:
8 AGI + 6 Submachine Gun + 2 smartlink -2 one handed -2 moving, -1 range: 11d6.hits(5)=5

2nd Short, Narrow burst: (One less die for building recoil:) 10d6.hits(5)=4

7P AP-, +hits

How come I roll amazing for attacks and butt for defense?

Free action: "Let's move!"

It will take an action to start dragging TundraWolf towards the balcony edge for escape. So only the first burst happens. But then the first burst actually kills that guard anyway. He only got one hit on his dodge and 4 hits on his damage resistance which puts him at 11 boxes of damage and dead on the floor. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Speaking of which. The lone surviving guard screams in horror. "No, not Jim. You bastards. His wife just had their first son last week!" He starts running towards his lifelong friend (they met each other in the Horizon sponsored grade school over 20 years ago). He also is putting in a call to the security office. "Where the hell is that High Threat Response Team? They just killed Jim. Jim man...how am I going to be able to face Sandy again?"

Silas can make a free attack action as the guard tries to step away from their melee.

Hes going to reach his friends body grab his gun as he ducks behind cover and shoot back at the sword weilding maniac. He manages to at least get in a hit

On Gardner's turn he shot a stinbolt at the àir elemental who again uses edge to get 7hits.

------------

That is followed by two pooft sounds from the roof area not unlike the sounds of more drones launching.

Speaking of drones, the one hover in the banquet hall received new orders earlier this round to shoot anybody on the 28th floor who is not broadcasting an authorized Horizon SIN. It opens fire on the closest target it can see. At this time that's a toss up between Silas, Mr White, and the target who no longer os broadcasting his SIN. Technically it would probably be the target, but ill say it aims for the armed Silas first.

Short wide burst 1 is 3hits.
short wide burst 2 is wow...5 hits on 6 dice.
Base damage is 5P no AP. Remember they are wide bursts so you're at -2 on defense.

The the earth elemental attacked the air elemental who got 6 hits on defense. so no damage.

------------

Then the target and Mr White keep running for another 9 meters though Acson is pretty scared of that monstrous noise of the hovering drone.

-------------

And now we are back up at the top of initiative for pass 3. What's the plant spirit doing Gardner?

The plant spirit will attack the air spirit with astral combat. It gets 4 hits. Base DV 4S
It also stops sustaining the engulf after this turn. I'm hoping that 10 more stun will knock out the sniper. I'm surprised he lasted 2 passes...

Edit: Not sure if astral combat works like melee combat (I think it does but I'm not with book) but while the earth elemental isn't effective in attacking, it would still provide penalties or bonuses to the combat between the plant and air spirits, yeah? Forget if that is a bonus to my dice pool or a penalty to yours...
