So I got into the Beta a while back, and got the ok to post a few Let's Play videos. The first one is mostly chargen and the tutorial, though there's a little bit of opening story spoilers, so be careful. The second video (once it loads) and further will be all spoilers, so watch at your own peril. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Woo, I have been enjoying a handful of the Let's Plays that I have found on YouTube to tide over the time until it releases.

Ah, I have been wondering when it will finally be released. Got it on preorder since quite a while already and didn't really follow the news.

Looks really nice, looking forward to trying it myself. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Same with the preorder, and the game looks to be fun.

I especially like the idea of the editor, how easy is it to use?

Also can this be run on a tablet? Going to stick mine on a regular PC, but just wonder if I make little adventures could I get a second game running on a tablet and load an edited setting into for the kids to play through on?

Yeah, they built it to be played on Mac/PC/Linux as well as on tablets and iPads.

But are Levels generated on a PC playable on a tablet? I believe that was the main question.

Indeed, that would be a concern, I should have worded that better.

Worst case scenario and it has to be scenarios built on a mac to go on an ipad, I can play on my pc and get a second copy for the wife's mac to design scenarios for the granddaughter to play through on her ipad.

Never too young to start learning how to run. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

Level editors these days typically create a proprietary map file that is interpreted by the game engine. (Look at WC3 and SC2 for an example of this.) Which means, if they've done it right, a level editor file (such as .sc2 and .wcm) should function cross-platform because it's just code fed into the engine to be interpreted.

Same... I'm hoping the level editor isn't any harder than Neverwinter Knights was. If it's as confusing as the Foundry for NeverWinter the MMO I'll be very disappointed.

They said it's "ugly and powerful." Doesn't necessarily imply difficulty of use, but... yeah, I wouldn't bet on it being as simple as NWN was.

There's a couple of tutorials from the HBS guys on YouTube for the editor if you wanna check them out.

Yeah, not quite as a simple as NWN, but not too much more difficult. Buildings are just time consuming, since you kind of assemble them like lego pieces.

If they release a LEGO ShadowRun game, I don't know whether I will laugh or cry... but I would buy it at launch either way.

You know, I almost said that even if it was terrible, it would still be pretty good... but after thinking about it a little, I'm pretty sure that such a thing would be like a perfect storm of "so bad it's good" and "so good it's awesome."

No they aren't. The tablet version won't be able to download user created content or make content. They mentioned maybe doing a release of some of the highest rated user created stuff for tablets but that would be far down the line.

So...a tablet version is good for 12ish hours of play?

I'll stick to PC thanks.

Sounds like Pizza and Sex (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

That said, Lego would be awesome for most visible cyberware. Got cyberlegs? Exchange the lower part!

The terrain building looks pretty tedious, but the conversation and event scripting looks WAY easier than NWN.

Honestly, I hope they release a lot more content packs, because Seattle and Berlin are not going to be enough for me. I want a lot of outdoor environs, not just urban. Winter, forest, jungle, etc.
