Hi chummers!

I put together a CharGen sheet in Excel and I am pretty sure there's problems in there (nothing is ever that good on first draft), so I am asking for help in spotting mistakes I made. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) This is not a fully fledged Character Generator and it will never be. The design goal is a rather lightweight support tool to help with the number crunching of Priority system based character creation.

This sheet uses VB scripts! If you don't trust me in that I have no reason whatsoever to spread a virus or something, don't download it.

V0.5 - added option for Mystic Adept Power Points; Free skills of certain Magic user types fixed

V0.4 - Karma cost for Attribute, skill group and skill raises now calculated by sheet (kudos to Flaser for passive help with the formula!); method of Karma raise changed (again, kudos to Flaser for the idea)

V0.3 - Added Attribute-Only Tests and base carrying capability; calculation of Magic and Resonance attribute now factors in loss of Essence; modified Limits now factor in Karma Raise

V0.2 - Fixed spelling (Resources), added Contacts, fixed calculation of Resources (Lifestyle cost now factored in correctly)

V0.1 - Initial Draft


Known bugs/problems:

The sheet does NOT support breaking up Skillgroups when spending Karma. At this point I am not sure if it ever will.


Known mistakes:

None at the moment

Downloaded, but AFB. I'll poke around during my lunch break and see if I spot any issues.

EDIT:
The obvious first comment is there is no data pre-entered -- no dropdowns for Advantages/Disadvantages, Gear, Powers, Spells and such. That's more than likely still on the "ToDo" list, but I figured I should mention it.

Other than that, I played around with swapping priorities around and got the expected warnings, races and special attributes seemed to work properly, as did adding positive and negative advantages. I'll play around with skills and specializations later to make sure they are correct.

Definitely a good start.

Did you keep working on this? It's the best from the ones I've seen - yeah, there aren't pulldowns, but that's fine for me.
A few things I added myself [and so should be added to the 'official' version]:
1) A 'contacts' session + contact point counter
2) Composure/judge intentions/lift+carry/Memory information
3) Stun/Wound counter
4) I made the skill tables actually look at the 'karma raise' tables, so it'll show the 'rating' as whichever is highest.

There were only two things that were 'broken' [and, not at all big deals] that I noticed:
1) It's spelled "Resources" [you got this right at least once, so..?]
2) Your resource-counter isn't including lifestyle cost. Just have to move the little box-selector-thing down one.

Should'nt Exceptional Attribute raise the maximum?
I am able to raise it over maximum, so that my be working as designed...

At the moment there is no cross-check of metarace-attribute/max-attribute/rating and the shown max ratings are not dynamic. I am unsure if I will implement this, it would require extensive programming.

Well in an ideal world:

i take mentor spirit as a quality then pick from a drop down list, then dependent on whether I'm an adept or magician the relevant stuff is added to the sheet (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)




Edit: Actually thinking about it the "ideal" world situation would be to select the quality then have my chosen spirit mentor appear next to me and grant me magic powers but i think that's expecting a bit much from excel ^_^

Sorry, but no. I don't do dropdown lists for qualities etc., as this would require extensive programming across the whole sheet and take it from number crunching support far into full CharGen territory.

Version 0.6 is out - big update

Version 0.6 now has the first page, the Character Sheet. This is automatically filled with everything you put into the Character Creation page. It also has some additional features:

-Karma tracker (complete with calculation of Streed Cred)
-Calculation of Condition Monitor boxes
-Calculation of either Astral Attributes or Living Persona

The Character Sheet page is kind of printer-friendly, although I realize the sheet is not much use if used as a hardcopy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Np, my whole group on Rolld20 is using this sheet to roll toons.

BTW, on thing I see some people needing with the new wireless Matrix rules is a means to network diagram our wireless devices. At least that's what I wish for when I read threads like this

There are two problems I found on the new Character Sheet Page so far. First, Initiative is pointing at Logic as opposed to Intuition. Magic is pointing to C42 instead of D42. Both are easy enough to fix, but I thought you might want to know for future updates.

*EDIT* Also "Power Points left" should have the formula "=M59-(SUM(O62:O84))"

Will you also add a function for weapons and armour next?

There is also a spelling mistake on the first worksheet Foki instead of Foci.

No. This is not a Character Generator, just a sheet to support you with the number crunching during character creation.
