Shouldn't the steam one play fine without an internet connection? Pretty much everything else does.

once it's installed, yes.

I can't even get into the HBS site for the extra loots, let alone download off steam. Yep, SRR killed the internets.

This is why the rest of the world doesn't like you German folk. Such a superiority complex. Didn't that cause you guys some serious problems a while back? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Pity beating my line with a cane won't make it any faster (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grinbig.gif) I'm paying way too much for curdled syrup speed SEA internets =\

Those things are such pests. Do you have any idea how hard they make it to take your girlfriend on a romantic walk through the park?
Particularly if you're allergic to Vegimite behind the ears?

Wouldn't the several viral diseases and the horrible mess of blackened claws and fangs be worse?
Then again... Australians are probably used to everything trying to kill them constantly...

Vegimite is basically the down-under version of marmite, which is essentially axle grease.

Why anyone would eat it is beyond me.

Yup. Snakes, spiders, drop bears, sharks, octopuses (blue-ringed, natch), jellyfish, ants, bunyups, pissed-off kangeroos...
You want to know one of the most dangerous, though? Wombats. Cute, cuddly, built like a brick on legs. Hit one of those at high speeds and I guarantee you that your car is coming off the worst for the exchange.
Then it'll get up, maul you and wander away. Also, square poop. not even kidding.

EDIT: hence the term 'Combat Wombat'

So I played a bit of the default campaign. Awesome stuff. I'm loving the combat system & the layout. My only major gripe is the lack of a "save any time" feature. Saves can only occur at checkpoints. Beyond that, this is the most awesomest game I have played in a while.

Honestly, I can think of other recent games with the lack of a 'save at any time' feature. Dead Space, for one.
I'm not sure it's a good idea for Shadowrun, but for a survival horror it was actually really good at ramping up the tension.

Given that I am a 'Murrican and have only been in the same house as marmite due to having a British uncle, no. I have not.

That Call of Cthulhu game that was out years back that the little "safe zones" where you could save, and get less insane. Loved it.

Vegimite was ... salty axle-grease that tries to strangle you as it goes down. If that helps.

From an, ahem, American perspective.

Well, where I'm at I only really have Grizzlies and Moose that want to kill me (that and -40 degree, not counting wind, winters).

Also, the Rabid Wombat was probably my favorite card in my Magic The Gathering days.

I just ran into someone preaching about how good the Universal Brotherhood has been to him.

I want to find the devs and hug the shit out of them. This game is, so far, exactly what I wanted when I bought in.
