Well, where I'm at I only really have Grizzlies and Moose that want to kill me (that and -40 degree, not counting wind, winters). Also, the Rabid Wombat was probably my favorite card in my Magic The Gathering days. Ahhh... The memories... No one can stop the Spell Enhanced Rampaging Rabid Wombat. |

Awesome, I knew creating a Decker over a Samurai was a good idea. He's an Ork.. but not named Bull... promise. |

Not that I've been playing the same character since the last time it was the 2050's or anything... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rotfl.gif) |

Dude, the first character I made for this (And remade for my "Lets Play" videos) was Bull teh Ork Decker. I think EVERYONE is making an in game version of their first/favorite SR character.

Tested my Face build. Elf, slowly maxing out charisma. Went a Shaman because that's the only role that really benefits directly from the insane CHA, but have managed to avoid several fights so far just by being charming (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hotspur, Elven Combat Decker, ready to roll (and yes, it's also my first-ever SR character).

I just wish I could remember what the name of my old combat ork decker was. I was wracking my brains and.. yeah, nope. I remember his many shenananagans (maybe too many nanana's there) but I can't for the life of me remember his name. |

I'm really looking forward to some of the stuff to come out of the editor in the coming months. I'm pretty worthless for creating such things, but I am pumped to see the awesomeness that others will make.

Have to wait to get home till I ride this rodeo, could someone tell me the cyber options? Had a dwarf ganger in 2ED that struggled to live in the hardest SR environment I have ever gamed in (played with brother and neighbors several times a week, highest paid job was 3K). Got a cyber arm and thought it was the biggest purchase ever (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) loved that game!!!

I've seen cyberlimbs, cybereyes, datajacks, bone lacing, dermal implants, wired reflexes... |

Vagrant, human PI. Damn, but this is fun as hell. Even deviated from my usual build and gave him a bit of decking.

I can't seem to find a smartlinked gun, though. Sort of annoying.

Too bad about you in-game. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I have avenged myself by proxy, and feel good about the fact that thousands of other fans are doing the same even as we speak... Renraku bastages. TD |

Yup. Snakes, spiders, drop bears, sharks, octopuses (blue-ringed, natch), jellyfish, ants, bunyups, pissed-off kangeroos... You want to know one of the most dangerous, though? Wombats. Cute, cuddly, built like a brick on legs. Hit one of those at high speeds and I guarantee you that your car is coming off the worst for the exchange. Then it'll get up, maul you and wander away. Also, square poop. not even kidding. EDIT: hence the term 'Combat Wombat' Friend of mine hit a wombat in his car. Car was a write-off. Wombat walked away. It was hurt, but we don't know whether it died. Just being able to walk away is darn scary, IMO. If wombats were carnivores we wouldn't be able to live in this country. I've been told that Aboriginal tribes used to punish tribal members for especially bad crimes by finding a wombat hole with the owner in residence, poking the wombat with a couple of long sharp sticks, then forcing the offender down the hole headfirst. Also, farmers need to know where wombat trails are, and make sure they don't put a fence post in the way. The problem is this takes down adjacent fence posts too - they get dragged down by the wires. (you can't put electric fence wires that close to the ground - the grass will short them out). Back on topic: Game went live in the middle of the night for me. I installed before I went to work, but I have commitments for some of tonight (Friday) all day Saturday, most of Sunday, and Monday night. Great to hear they've captured the setting so well. I have a meeting last thing today, so I can't even go home early. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sarcastic.gif) |

Had the game all afternoon. Steam crashes on me every fifteen minutes. This game desperately needs a non-Steam variant for those of us who didn't back the kickstarter, or it needs a Quick Save. If I go through the opening combat again, I'm probably going to give up on the game entirely. Played all afternoon in Steam, online. No crashes. |

So far I've gotten up to the point where you do a lot of stuff then kill a guy who very much had it coming, all thanks to Stahl, who gifted me a copy, probably because I've gifted the world with a lot of text written on the topic of ponies. (Thanks, Stahl. The power of friendship FTW!)
It's... More fun/accessible than I had feared it would be, but... Some things don't make sense. Well, okay, Wired Reflexes not adding a permanent +1 AP is what don't make sense honestly. Largely that. The inability to mod weapons and armor and drones is disappointing. I'm playing an Elf Combat Hacker-Rigger, but it's terribly disappointing that my drones only seem to carry the equivalent of a bolt-action rifle. Not being able to trick out my gun with five nines of cool stuff is also a drag. Still, though, I looked up and the entire evening was gone. So they did something right. [e]Also, I was kind of disappointed you couldn't tap people who have a personal stake in avenging someone to go and get their vengeance personally at the point of a gun. It was kind of a shame to have to hire some random 'Runner to go and do the dirty work when I'd think that someone whose brother was killed and someone else whose friend was murdered would be interested in going and getting some payback personally. |

I am up to the cemetary at the moment, and so far I love it. The writing is superb and the combat engaging.
I'm a bit annoyed that Wired Reflexes doesn't seem to give me any more actions than I already had though... and I can't remove it. |

Am up to the first "official" run (aka the part where you hire other runners)
So far it's awesome. While, again, no manual save, the game at least stores all of your previous auto-saves, so you aren't COMPLETELY butt-fucked if you decide you want to go back and do a mission differently then how you previously did. And echoing Cynewulf, the writing thus far is excellent. Shame there's no voice acting, since there's a lot of great material to work with here. |
