that's possible, but it's not built in to the functionality of the editor.

you have to do some messing around with the actual files to do it.

in the youtube comments there it says you can add new props by way of the editor now.
but messing around with the files will probably still work too . .
i might try my hand at porting some more ware, weapons and armor into the game . .

is it possible to tell the game that it gets to chose this gear too? or are there no randomized NPCs but all hand crafted static ones?

I see a lot of bitching on the Steam forums, and I understand why.

I should point out that I'm actually glad I'm banned from the steam forums* or I'd be wasting all my time refuting the criticisms of the game. "It's not what I expected" -> "Did you not...read anything HBS said about the game during development?"

*I pre-ordered a game called Dungeons that advertised itself as the successor to Dungeon Keeper. It was absolutely shit, the tutorial was only about 35% informative, the game play strategy made no sense, and it was in no way "like" Dungeon Keeper. So I posted this massive review/bitchfest on the steam forums and finished off with "and this is why I try before I buy, even if that means torrenting." So I was banned for "advocating piracy." I also got Steam to refund the money I spent on that game.

Also, funnily enough, the developer called me a troll on the official forums.

The steam forum comments are both funny and sad at the same time:
"How can it call itself a RPG? It has no loot!"
"There are too many dialogs, there should be an option to skip them!"

It's quite horrible what decades of Diablo and CoD will do to people.

And how. I saw complaints earlier about not being able to follow the storyline, and the guy was asked 'did you read the loading screens?' 'No, they're just fillers anyway, why would I read that shit?'

Well yeah, ripping out the cyberware of "dying" people to fund your own crap. Isn't that normal? Would be cool to be able to shock your accomplices/friends by "Ooooh, look... i think he's got an internal cyberdeck... let's take it with us"

From a Shadowrun perspective: I've think "loot their body" has no place in a game that's typically not about exploring caves (or concentration camps...) to see what you can find.
From a more general RPG perspective: It's a fixture of the genre, especially on PC, so I can see why a lot of folks who don't play SR as PnP expect looting.

The no-loot aspect was irritating, but I only ran out of yen once. Luckily, a friendly J gave me a sidejob that I took care of myself. (The joys of hotwiring turrets.) I pretty much had all the money I needed for ware and guns, and finished with 17k. Looting would have been nice, but all in all, not much was lost. The game was a solid 8.5/10.

The RNG seems problematic, but without being able to see under the hood I can't track it down. I feel like the seed gets stuck sometimes, much like it would do in NWN, although I could see it happen there. "I just rolled 9 ones in a row". I've even seen Master of Monsters like scenarios with it, missing a 98% chance to hit 3 times in a row while a 30ish percent chance was nailed repeatedly.

Indeed.

Hotspur, Elven Decker, is sporting a datajack, basic optics (+3 accuracy), and -- for no real reason but that he ended up with an arm, IC -- got a basic cyberarm installed. All it does is give a HP bonus, but I figure I can upgrade it later, and in the meantime it helps my Combat Decker be a little more Combat-y.

Ha! Switch elf to Ork and you're describing Finn, my combat decker. Just finished the first offical "run" and I'm absolutely loving the game. Writing is awesome, I love the text-based-throwback style with descriptions and emotions, really brings me back to my FRUA days.

Speaking of... I wonder how long until we start seeing some classic adventure packs (Queen Euphoria, DOA, etc) showing up as user created (or official, I'd pay) mods? That would be neat.

As noted below, my one quibble (and very minor) would be that I'd love to have been able to pick up some of those sweet guns off the corpses that I've been making. My shotgun and light pistol seem to be adequate though, so its pretty minor.

they are saved in a file i think.
so afterwards you should be able to check into that.

edit:
look for the dumpbox folder and the files in there.

Awesome.

I had to stop today before my first real matrix "run", but I did manage to jump in there for a different scene briefly. Its interesting in there, but is there a way to stealth, or is it basically just combat? I didn't see any progs that would seem to help with being sneaky (sleazy?).

Thanks Stahl, I'll check that out. I'm really curious because I play tons of games that use RNGs and certain times you can tell when they aren't working right (like learning lower difficulties on XCOM modify your roll even though you show a low success chance).

Is there a point to hiring a decker? Two times Ive done that, and there has been nothing to hack.

There are a couple missions where it is helpful (and one where it is, in fact, mandatory).

Some of the later stuff can use a decker, but in the first section (the Ripper), deckers don't have much use.

Pretty sure the folks at HBS said something about how decking was actually the last thing they added to the game, and as such there wouldn't be much of it in default campaign.

But hey, there's the map editor if you wanted to make more Matrix-heavy runs.
