I was watching some MST3K, specifically the episode "Pumaman".

Around the 20 minute mark an aztec breaks into the hero's hotel room to reveal the origin of his powers. When confronted, he revealed that he works for 'Aztechologies'.

This cannot be coincidence. But what does it mean?

An Italian produced movie done in English 9 years before Shadowrun was first published. I'd call it coincidence. That, or one of the original game designers ripped off the movie in taking the name.

you fool! the conspiracy runs deeper than that!

Obviously, Aztechnology's end game is to create an army of puma men and... take over the world! (Dun dun dun!)

Or it was a subtle reference.

I doubt it though. The word "Aztec" just screams "Aztech(nology)"

Isn't Mystery Science Theater an US show?

The television show is, but the movie is not.

Movie - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081693/combined & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pumaman
MST3K - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0655440/plotsummary

Shadowrun is from 1989+, that mockup is from 1998 and i seriously doubt that line is part of the original movie (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) .
