Hey folks,
So I'm making a 5th ed. Rigger I'm having some trouble with skills. I'm *probably* taking Skills at my A priority. I am a huge fan of skill groups, and I understand the skill points at priority A are 46/10. What if I want more than 10 points in skill groups? Can I spend some of my 46 skill points to buy more groups? I believe as long as I put 1 point into each of the skills in the group, I'm basically buying the group by default. Is any of that correct? Is it possible have the following: From my A priority points: Electronics Group: 5 Engineering Group: 5 Cracking Group: (6) Electronic Warfare: 6 Cyber Combat: 6 Hacking 6 (At a cost of 18 skill points) Thanks |

The only way to get actual savings for the group, though, is to buy it with your group points or with karma. |

...but if I want more than 10 points in skill groups, I'm basically out of luck?
I may as well just buy all those skills and advance them separately. |

I may as well just buy all those skills and advance them separately. 50 Karma is enough to buy a Rating 4 Skill Group from scratch, but otherwise yes. Given the skill group cost is 2.5xSkill Cost, you may be able to convince your GM to let you buy them at a 2:5 rate... |

I think you're right.
It just completely defeats the purpose of having skill groups. Thanks for the reply. |
