My question is about cyberware:
the cyberware cost does include medical costs for the operation? Or is the price for the ware only? Is there any guidelines about it somewhere? |

There were rules for this in SR3, since SR4 it's all in one. |

It does not cover hospitalized lifestyle. Meaning, one can get 7 points of physical damage and decide walk from the hospital instead of recovering there to save money. All kinds of problems may apply to this... |

It's interesting but it doesn't solve the problem that led me to this question. Let's say I physically steal a piece of cyberware (unmounted) worth, say 200 000 nuyen (in the rulebook). If those 200 000 include installation (but without post operation medical care), how much should I value the piece alone?

I'd say around 65%-70% of the total cost is the product in itself, the rest is the cost for the operation.

I usually go with 10% of the price for installation cost.
Obviously this rule of thumb can't apply everywhere, but it neatly lets me sell cyberware at 30% of its base price. |
