display of comments changed, and i don't know why Options

something changed in how posts are shown in a thread forum

it used to just display every comment up to 20? and then need to switch pages

it's all a giant list with a display like this to click to see comments

post by user c
post by user a
-------quote etc etc etc

for however many comments there are

did i change something by accident and how can i get back to normal

Sounds like you are in "Outline" mode. Look for the word "options" to the right of the title of the post displayed. Under "Display Modes", click on "Switch to Standard".
