I've been catching myself wanting to give a thumbs-up to various posts for a long time now, but recently I've seen a lot of comments in the main discussion board with people wishing the exact same thing.

So I figured, hey, you never know until you ask! Hence this thread!

I'm aware that implementing new forum functionalities can be a tricky task more akin to strange voodoo than simple tech modification. If it just isn't in the cards, well I guess we can live without, but if it can be added in without too much headache, I think it'd go over pretty well and be popular with most folks.

Just my (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) 2.

You know, in all my time here I STILL haven't figured out what the Multiquote button does...

*chin rub*

Edit: Google search "dumpshock multiquote" brings up a post from Feb 3 2008 when the feature was first added, which explains. This post also notes that "At this time, there is no visible sign that you clicked on multiquote", which appears to still be the case six years later. Hence why I could never figure out what the frag the damn thing did, because it looked like it was doing nothing.

This is a Shadowrun board, right? Why not a "rep" system? With limited number of rep mods a user can give per day (either +1 or -1). It could be quite interesting.

This is what multi quote does. Click Multi quote on each post you want to include, then click Add Reply.

Yeah, I got that finally, thanks. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

That said, my dear Admin, any word on whether this is remotely feasible? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

yes, that works.
like this i know where you stand and i don't see an anonymous -1 somewhere next to or above or below my post and have no idea who downvoted/disliked and why.

And if typing +1 or in this case -1 is too much work, then why even bother at all?

That would fall on the shoulders of the admins that handle the back end of this system. If you can provide links to some plug-ins that are compatible with the forum software, as well as reviews of said plug-ins, which do what you want, that would get you a step closer to actualizing the request. No guarantee that it will be approved, but helping with the research would show whether or not it's important to you.
