I started the original "One Hour Sketch Challenge" back in March 2005. It's seen a few resurrections since and now, for it's (almost) 10th Anniversary, I present...

Kenshi's ArtAttack - 5th Edition!

For those new to the game, here's how it works:
1. Post a character description. Be specific about how they look. Don't bother with stats. One character per post.
2. Sketches will be produced on a "first come, first served" basis.
3. Please be patient. These are done in my (limited) free time and this thread will fill multiple pages within a few days.

my first Char is Taifun (Typhoon in English).
Human Male, 170 CM Tall (thats 5' 8'' right ? ) NAN-Poser .He's really an Asian that looks a bit like Tony Jaa

above average STR and BOD and very Agile so he's rather small and Slim
his long Black Hair is held in check by a NAN Bandana with a Crow Feather dangling at the side
he prefers to wear a long dark Brown Western Style longcoat with a Hood .The coat hides his Pistolgrip-Shotgun with a Sling (a Defiant T-250 to be exactly ).
He wears a western style belt with a Tomahawk at his right side, a knife at the left side and a Mescalero style Holster for his Ruger Super Warhawk.He wears leather pants and a belt with a NAN Belt Buckle and a long Sleeve Shirt with the Red Shadowrun Aztec Snake
(also a NAN Style bracelet with a Comlink that is styled like an Eagle Feather but this will be hidden by the Coat )

This is my dear friend Alouicious Harlan Guthrie, esquire.

Physical Description
Reflects recent brush with VITAS.
5’3” 150 lbs (healthy weight: 170)
Thin, skin seems a bit loose (again, not normal for him)
Formerly tanned complexion now pale, almost yellow (not normal).
Bags under eyes.
Facial bone structure even, but nose has obviously been broken a number of times.
At first glance looks mid- to late-60s, but upon closer observation seems more like his own weather-beaten, worse-for-wear 47-year-old self.
Bushy mop of sandy hair, bangs cut above the eyes, around the ears, and roughly at collar-length (no, not a mullet). Appears to have been hacked off with a knife. Probably hasn’t been washed in a while.
Sunken cheeks (even when healthy), prominent chin, moderately heavy brow over bright, deep-set blue eyes.
Side-burns, not bushy
Generally sports a few days’ growth, but usually uneven, as though he missed some spots the last time he shaved.
Cybereyes only visible on very close observation – ‘normal’ appearance.
Teeth hopelessly tobacco-stained. Fingernails, too.
Wolfish grin.
Hands and forearms mottled with terrible burn scars.
Wears beat up brown workmen’s boots (Doc Marten’s). Faded, ripped jeans (from actual wear and tear – if Al bought a new pair he would never think of intentionally damaging them). Currently they are quite loose, but cinched tight with a brown cracked-leather belt. (Anywhere he plans to go carrying his shotgun, he trades the jeans for olive-drab cargo pants, which provide pockets for shells.) Stained yellowish-white T-shirt or, on very hot days, yellowish-white wifebeater. Ancient, weathered brown real-leather RAF bomber jacket – currently quite bulky on his emaciated frame. It was a gift from his father on the last birthday he spent at home, so he won’t part with it. Added discreet armor lining, etc. Boxer shorts, woolen socks.
Filterless Lucky Strike omnipresent, usually in corner of mouth, even if speaking. Note that Al generally uses his legerdemain skill so that new cigarettes simply appear in his hand, followed in the other by his big stainless steel zippo.
No visible jewelry of any kind. If wearing jacket, no visible tattoos.
Very hairy – extensive hair on chest, shoulders, and upper arms. Also on back and buttocks, but this is only here and there in tufts, where there are breaks in the extensive scarring.
Scars –
Back, buttocks, and backs of thighs heavily crisscrossed with raised cane scars. Extremely conspicuous.
Hands and forearms mottled with burn scars.
Cigarette burn marks on soles of feet, inner thighs.
Small nozzle-thing under lower left rib – internal air tank intake. Also thin, well-healed 8cm scar below that, where tank was inserted.
Bullet wound scars: two in left shoulder, one in left waist, one particularly nasty one that took out a good chunk of flesh above left clavicle (Al is generally left-side-facing when firing shotgun).
15 cm slash straight across belly, significantly marring ‘The Elephant.’ Miscellaneous other knife scars,
Tattoos – all old-fashioned black ink unless otherwise stated – NO weird fluorescent or nanite crap.
‘The Elephant’ – a truly high-quality piece of craftsmanship, the head – facing straight on – of an African elephant, quite large, tattooed across Al’s pelvis. The crown extends above his navel, the eyes are wide-set above the level of his pubis, the tusks extend down his inner thighs, the ears flare out across and around his hips. His genitals, themselves appropriately tattooed for texture, are the trunk. Got it in Accra. Still incredibly proud of it. Killed the asshole that knifed him in the gut and messed it up.
Inside right forearm – another good piece of work he got done in Hamburg along with the rest of the team. Full-color. A gnarly sea serpent crushing and cracking a 3-D representation of the Proteus AG logo, its fanged visage striking forward at the viewer, this done in excellent perspective. The image encompassed by a neat circular banner, ‘Troubleshooters’ emblazoned across the top, ‘Proteus AG’ across the bottom. Inscribed neatly but much smaller underneath it all – “No. 1 Bilge Rat”. Proteus management, wanting the team to be a deniable asset, was less than pleased. Their order that all the tats be laser-removed was one of the reasons Al left their employ.
From top of left shoulder, extending downward to elbow – a ‘list’ of girlfriends, all in different styles of calligraphy/font/whatever, varying levels of quality, some in Roman letters, a few Arabic, one in Chinese characters. All have neat Xs tattooed through them. Ten total. Al always thought people that got their girlfriend’s name tattooed and then tried to ‘cover it up’ with another, more elaborate design of another person’s name were stupid. So he just has them Xed out (though they are still legible) and has the next one added to the list. The fact that they are all currently Xed out indicates, of course, that he is available at this time.
Equivalent of ‘fuck you’ written in Khmer across the soles of his feet. Anyone that can read Khmer will be able to tell that the calligraphy is awful and awkward – it is apparent in any case that it is extremely crudely done – he did it himself in his cell between cigarette-burn sessions.
Right upper arm – a nude hula dancer (you can tell by the lei) who – you guessed it – seems to sway erotically when he flexes his bicep.
Right shoulder – shoulder patch positioning – Confederate stars and bars in color.
A serpent coiling up from his left ankle around his calf to his knee.
Shirtless, Al can be seen to have a string of very small fetishes on a leather thong around his neck, and another tight around his left upper arm. These are purely of his own creation, and no real houngan would recognize them as voudoun objects, but that’s what they are to Al.
Generally no visible tech – his commlink is kept in jacket pocket.
Always stinks of cigarette smoke, but otherwise not really bad smelling, contrary to appearances. Think: grooming terrible, hygiene not terrible.
If he takes off his jacket one can see a big survival knife, sheathed, stuck into his belt at the small of his back. He thinks of it as a tool and not a weapon – he’d never use it instead of his hands or his shotgun butt – and never thinks to remove it before entering places where it wouldn’t be allowed.
Not a particularly magnetic or endearing personality, though exudes a sort of unbridled virility.
Voice is sometimes too loud, and very gravelly/scratchy. Physicality usually very subdued – brash voice from mostly still frame.

I hope that is enough detail for you (I am a bit obsessive about ol' Al).

Female, elf
6'3", slim, toned but not beefy
Delacroix's hair is the rich, deep brown of expensive chocolate, usually cut in a fashion-forward asymmetric bob; her large, almond-shaped eyes are a vivid cerulean. Maya's skin is fair, with a fading tan indicating time spent in the tropics; like most elves, her skin is free of blemishes, apart from a dusting of freckles across her chiseled cheekbones and the bridge of her laser-straight nose. A dimple in the middle of her chin, and a wide, mobile mouth soften an otherwise-severe face. She dresses conservatively, in expensive gray suits whose expert tailoring helps to conceal the big, chunky pistol under her left arm. Her shoes match the suit well enough that not many people notice they're actually running shoes, and Maya's legs are long enough that few can keep up with her at a dead sprint. A big, heavy silver ring set with a star sapphire sits on the ring finger of her right hand: a power focus, if anyone can pierce her masking to see it.

Maya is most often seen in bars and restaurants, preferring to meet the runners she hires in public places. She's a rarity among Johnsons, one who genuinely cares for her contractors. Her manner is warm and friendly; she treats "her" runners like younger siblings, always happy to see them, always with a joke or a kind word. Those stupid or reckless enough to piss her off know a different side of Maya Delacroix: the tireless hunter, the crack markswoman, the mage with a taste for fire spells. Stay on her good side, and she'll make your life easy (well, easier, anyway). Get on her bad side, and you'll live just long enough to regret it.

Unlike the previous sketch (which was digital), "Al" is done in good old fashioned ink. This one took me about 45 minutes. From the (extremely detailed) description, I definitely got a "Hellblazer" vibe. The image quality isn't as good as previously. That is due to substandard equipment here at work (This was done over my lunch break).

This character has been in my head for over ten years, but this is the first actual graphic representation I have had (always somehow just miss having him done up by this artist or at that con).

I like what you have done with the face, especially the nose, the whole hawkish element I had not pictured before.

In Human form he stands 179 cm (5'10 1/2") and weighs in at 122 kilos (268 lbs).
He does not appear obese as his weight would imply, but rather projects an intense sense of being solid with barrel-chest and thick limbs.
Rather like a dwarf scaled up to human size, although with longer legs being more proportionate to a human.
Appears to be of MesoAmerican descent with brown hair, moustache and beard with hints of grey salted through all kept trimmed to a 1cm height overall.
Hair is receding along the temples abit, creating a pronounced widow's peak.
Dark brown eyes with golden flecks dancing in their depths.

Body sports a web of fine light scarring and deeper pock marks from old wounds/experiments long since healed over.

Attire tends toward grey t-shirt and black or tan cargo pants with sandals.
Wears wire rim 70's style (1970's , not 2070's) AR Glasses.

Carries an obsidian bladed athame.

Drake Form is a green scaled solidly built drake of Western appearance except for two features:

Claws are more articulated, on par with an Eastern style dragon.

Rather than the traditional leather wings, he sports butterfly wings with Monarch butterfly pattern to them. (He believes his maker was a sick S.O.B. or possibly drunk that day)

Ethnicity: Mixed, with notable East Asian heritage (around 50%)

Build: Slim, Well-muscled but not stocky. Has the lean musculature of a person who is a regular traceuse and martial artist

Description: Standing nearly 178cm, Seven combines vaguely East-asian facial features that accentuate her already elven-delicate features, and pale-fair skin that doesn’t seem to tan more than a couple shades no matter how long she spends under the sun. She has shoulder-length brown-black hair that is usually tied loosely in the back, but when let down has a very slight wave in it, in contrast to completely straight Asian style hair. She dresses functionally, sticking to material that do not overly impede movement, but makes the sacrifice for utility with an armor jacket and shoulder rig pouch-and-bandolier that she uses to carry knickknacks and useful items. Her primary weapons are throwing knives.

The only other distinctive part of her attire is pair of studio-style headphones with a stylized 7 printed on the earpieces, which are always either hanging around her neck, or being worn while she is on-the-move.

Well...... Here you go; a character of mine. Actually, two, since the first one is heavily dependent on color to get the full effect, and if you don't feel like going to the trouble of doing that, I'll present a (slightly) more traditional character. Or at least one less polychromatic.

Well, damn. I'd rather see Zoé brought to life than Emily, but she'd be a stone-cold bitch to color, and without the color she's really just any other elf teenager. So...


Character 2: Emily "Shades" Sansnom. (Yes, it's a pun on the French phrase sans-nom, which means without name.☠)

Eyes: Cybernetic, image-display types, typically vivid green human eyes with golden flecks in the pupils.
Visible Cyber: Jensen Shades - her eyes feature snap-over amber (actually color-changing, but usually amber) shades (protective covers,) that are intentionally just like those worn by Adam Jensen in Deus Ex: Human Revolution. In her defense, she is old enough to play DXHR as a young woman, and after her most recent break with her old identity, decided to get something cool.

Standard outfit
For tooling around town doing the Private Eye thing or general wear, such as to a meeting with Mr. Johnson, someplace where formal wear isn't called for, but which is too nice to wear obvious armor. This combines a full-body set of FFBA with a long lined coat which is (again,) a replica of that worn by Adam Jensen. The FFBA is covered by a set of perfectly ordinary silk shirt and heavy-duty cargo trousers, along with some practical, tough boots.

Full Frontal Assault
Take the full-body FFBA and add a no-holds-barred armor jacket which is obviously armor. Features pockets as well as loops, straps, and pouches, for holding useful things like space magazines, or white phosphorous grenades, and probably a strap-on pouch or satchel.

Means Business
A Zoé Executive Suite Long Jacket ensemble, tailored to match the DXHR floral pattern on her lined jacket, this business outfit is matched to it, with a charcoal color pallete and bright, pop-out amber trim on the high collar, cuffs, and seams. The book describes it thusly:

Zoé has changed this top-selling line to “define the style of the next century’s executive.” It features very smooth and simply designed clothes with few but carefully placed pockets and other accessories, like contrasting-colored cuffs and collars seamlessly attached to the clothing. The fabric appears stiff but offers high comfort even after a sixteen-hour workday.
Executive Suite clothes are available either as monocolored suits (with the previously mentioned contrasting accessories) or in specific complementary color pairs, carefully arranged to harmonize with each other.
Many Executive Suite ensembles are often tailored to emphasize their owners’ best features—for example, accentuating a slim waist or well-toned upper body.

Partying
A Vashon Island Steampunk corset ensemble, like the one Zoé (the other character) owns. Only Emily can actually fill a corset out. Hers is not matched to her Jensen Jacket, and features a Vashon Island Steampunk Overcoat instead.

A touch of class. But only a touch.
A Zoé moonsilver cocktail dress with a shawl, this outfit is nothing but raw sex appeal; strapless and low-cut with a plunging neckline and back that plunges clear down past the navel to the top of her pelvis, it stays in place more thanks to a shitload of gecko adhesive material on the inside of the hem than anything else. It's come-get-some red, with a quicksilver floral pattern, and terminates at the upper thigh. Add a set of wedge shoes short enough that you can actually run in them if need be, a matching belt with a pouch on one hip and a Shiawase K-2072 in red, silver and gold (where the image is blue) on the other, and you're done.

(The open-carry "purse popper" is to distract from the Ares Predator IV in the purse-pouch. If they're lucky. If they're not, it's the Krime Stopper. And hey, stick 'n shock is S'n'S, whether it comes out of a sniper rifle or a purse popper.)

Arsenal page 47 describes the Moonsilver line thusly:

This line of evening gowns combines silver and light-blue effects provided by the enticing Illumine™ self-lucent fabric in a way that not only looks staggering but also diverts attention away from the fact that the highly stress-resistant fabric and its accessories provide considerable impact protection. The line offers a wide variety of dresses for nearly all high-society occasions, from formal full-length evening gowns to more seductively tailored cocktail dresses.
Zoé also offers many accessories for this line, including sashes, scarves, and stoles to either harmonize with or offer an elegant contrast to the basic dresses.

Everybody needs a good car.
Emily's ride is a Rover 2068, as found in Arsenal page 109, in full G-Man High-Gloss Black paint scheme with windows that are, perhaps unsurprisingly, also opaque black. And bulletproof. It only has the two front bucket seats and the middle bench seat, though, because the back seat has been replaced with a cargo bed area. And a pop-up concealed GE Vindicator minigun turret. Because you never know when you'll get hired to do convoy duty for the kind of VIP where hosing down a city block with lead is acceptable collateral damage. (Or just when you need to ventilate an entire go-gang at once.) Furnished in tan fabric that repels all liquids, which is useful if you need to drive around someone who's bleeding from wounds. Or want to use that back bench for the obvious.

It also features an Extra Large Vehicle Sensor Array (probably a roll-bar type on the top-front,) with pretty much anything you can ask for.

Fake Commlinks.
Emily's real commlink is in her head. She has a CMT Clip for a burner 'link, and an Erika Elite which looks nice and high-class and is kind of crap, just for show.

Others
Other accessories include an optional gas mask, tool kit, respirator (R6,) mountains of ammunition, and 12 of pretty much every kind of grenade. Sneaky Murdergun
A Krime Stopper whose grip has been replaced for something more appropriate to a human female's hand rather than a troll's, this Krime Stopper has been up-rated with the dreaded High-Power Chambering mod, a Smartlink, Skinlink, and a silencer. When you're only going to get two shots, you want those shots to sound as thunder, so it either fires massively-oversized Ex-Ex shells, or Shock Lock rounds, in case you need to breach a door in a hurry.

It hurts like a stone motherfucker to fire, though, which is why it's only used for close-in surprise assassinations of difficult targets, like trolls wearing body armor, or doors.

Ares Predator IV
If you're a Shadowruner and you don't own one of these, you're not a Shadowrunner, you're street meat. (Note that owning an Ares Predator IV does not automatically upgrade you from street meat to Shadowrunner, it's merely a prerequisite, like "legs" is a prerequisite for olympic 100m-dash gold medalist.) Emily's has been heavily customized with a personalized grip, a silenced, an extended clip, and an improved rangefinder. It typically lives in a quickdraw holster.

Long-Range Death
If you don't have a sniper rifle, you ought to get one. And if you need a sniper rifle that can be good, and easily modified without breaking the bank, you can't beat an Ares Desert Strike. A classic, turn-of-the-century-styled military sniper rifle, it's not what you want for taking down trolls or paracritters, but when you need to pick off lighter targets at very long range on a budget, it can't be beat. This one has been modified with an external smartgun system in place of the imaging scope, a bipiod under the barrel, a silencer, and a trigger removal.

Emily has a twisted sense of humor and occasionally is given in to severe retro urges. (She owns fedora that matches her Jensen Jacket!)
This abominable snowman of a submachinegun started life as a Shiawase Arms Tactical Model 71, which is already pretty damn expensive and augmented. It has, of course, been heavily modified: trigger removed, improved rangefinder, gas vent III, a sling, and a one-hundred round drum magazine. It's the Chicago Way. Now in Seattle.

Anyway, I know I provide an overload of detail, but I remember the awesome sauce you did for my characters last time you came around, so... I hope you can bring one of these to life. (Or both. I wouldn't complain about both.)

I spent about 50 minutes on this bad mamma jamma. The trickiest part was coming up with a pose that conveyed how tough he was while still highlighting the "Fireproof" brand on the jacket.
