So, I was just reading this opinion piece by the transgender former SEAL: http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/02/opinion/lady....html?hpt=us_r1

I realized that a transgender former SEAL is the best concept ever for an action adventure RPG. It would be great for a Red Dawn scenario where the Chinese invade New Mexico, or something like that.

The occupiers don't suspect that the main character is a former SEAL due to the gender change, so the main character decides to basically pull a Red Dawn and fight the invaders.

Since the main character is kind of rusty, this explains RPG-style rapid advancement of skills. The explanation is that you're just recovering the skills and fitness levels you haven't had in a while.

I can see lots of room for humor in dialogue, too, doing things like recruiting the local high school varsity team ("WOLVERINES!!!!") etc.

Wow, that is a great idea for an action RPG. Shame none of the big studios are likely to touch it with a ten foot pole.

You could even add in stealth combat aspects where you infiltrate different areas openly by relying on the guards not seeing you as a threat, then pull off your mission and either sneak or fight your way out.

I have this mental image of walking into an occupied school in a flower dress, locating a bunch of kids who are being held as leverage to keep their parents in line, and then piling them all into a nearby APC and just flooring it though the gates before anybody realizes what the frag is going on. I could see it for a PC game, however for a tabletop RPG, half the fun is creating your own character. I also imagine it a BIT of a stretch to half a party of seven transgender Navy SEALs (who of course met randomly in a tavern).

Pretty sure that's what Wounded Ronin meant when he said it was a good idea for an action adventure RPG. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)
